What the hell man, my wheat isnβt sticking to the jar properly? No shitty starch paste?
Jokes aside this was filthy and full of broken grains out of the bag, I overcooked it, and it still rolls around the perfectly. Learned today that I have probably never dried a batch of grain properly.
Fuck yeah beef

I'm a largely visual learner as well, so this is much appreciated. Thank you.

Nice write-up Beef. Itβs concise, quality and contains a lot of information. I also like the attention given to detail and visual aide. This will be my go-to if I can get my hands on some wheat locally. Iβll return to this thread triumphant one day.

3 quarts of air fried Beefy Wheat Supreme! Super hydrated on the inside from going low and slow on the simmer and extra dry on the outside after a half hour in the basket of my air fryer at 175F. The grains kept getting nicer and nicer until I just knew they were ready to roll.

That's 3 myco-quarts in the photo, could probably hold one more. Need to leave a little headroom to stir it every now and then. I've also used it to dry fruits in a pinch.

Great writeup! Been using wheat for a while very cheap around here. But always did the 16-20 hour soak. Will be trying this tomorrow Thanks!

I believe it was only air fried for drying purposes

Well Iβve done it at last. That 50lb bag of wheat Iβve been staring down got broke into and we started doing some things 2 days ago. My shit is looking near perfect and this is my first attempt. I donβt want to draw any causation from my anecdotal experience but I will say I believe the slow summer is what sets this apart. First attempt everything turned out near perfect. I adapted to my own circumstances as we all must do; I sat a 5gal for chaff and floaters in the sink basin and used the extension nozzle from my kitchen sink. I did not use soap as surfactant. Dried on trash liners in 8x6 tent with 2 box fans, outfitted.
