It’s just BRF and water. The surface got more messed up than usual because they shifted In the PC. I gotta lift them up next time with some extra lids. Your certain all the white is mold also? About to trash these and make another 12 to try this syringe on again.

You can get light malt extract and agar fairly cheap on scamazon if you want to play around with legit agar. I'd think like $20.

Yea ordering plates and agar currently. Excited to get them.

Fortunately and unfortunately in the past this technique worked fine for me so I got comfortable.

Two days ago I made transfers from these plates to some new ones. I noticed when I cut a tiny piece out of the white it seemed like myc I’ve transferred in the past.

Now each plate I transferred to is showing signs of growth from the spots I placed the suspected mycelium. Really only see what appears to be tomentose growth so far.

If this was white mold would it have rebounded as quickly as these did. Would I notice it in other spots if the new plates that I didn’t intentionally place a piece from the spore plates?

I sniffed the initial plates and they had no noticeable smell.

Keep in mind these plates are also made with BRF paste, as I. Wait on agar. Although these were made much neater, didn’t tip over, and have an actual smooth even surface.

I’ll update with some pictures when I get a chance.

Original plates I put the spores to are all looking like this now. Fairly happy with the smoke shop syringe so far. At least it was viable. Now to find out if it’s actually APE.

How risky is it to throw one transfer wedges to WBS?

Want to get a few jars going quickly as possible, spawn a few shoeboxes.

Slightly dangerous even if you can't see any suspect growth. It's cause of the 3d growth from RR thing we talked about.

I forget and am too lazy to check, did your start with print or syringe?

Started all these from a spore syringe. Although I’ve noticed the syringe has what looks like tissue strands and bigger clump of translucent fibers in the syringe floating. I shook and broke those up as good as possible before shooting them.

Would have been a bit safer had it been prints and everything you put in there started on the surface but with spore solution or LC (sounds like that's what you had) the solution will soak down into the brf somewhat and you could potentially have some contam below the surface.

Best bet is to just go to agar but if you wanna risk some jars I'd suggest just doing one and if that turns out clean use it for g2g into other jars.

Alright makes sense. Here’s a decent picture of the syringe… I’m wondering if they’re selling LC labeled as APE spores. That’s illegal right? Lol

PC’d four quart jars of WBS and put the healthiest looking cuts from the first transfers. Fingers crossed.

Feel like my wbs is still a little too wet. I soaked it a day and then let it dry over night in a towel. It felt fine before loading the jars but after PC they seem more wet. First grain prep in awhile so I figured it wouldn’t be perfect. My main concern is the grains and fuckin cracked corn stuck to the sides towards the top.

Only bought this WBS because I won 180 bucks in gift cards to Home Depot from DraftKings lol. Like the ACE brand more. Oh well.

Grains look a lot better today. The small wedges are already kicking off. Good stuff. Hope a few come out clean enough to expand.

Wbs needs a shake right out of the cooker and a couple hours to look right IME, otherwise clumping in the bottom can happen.

I’ve also personally had a hard time steaming off/ straining straight wbs or millet and mix in 50% wheat

Yea I gave em a good shake right when I took them out. I’m fairly certain I always prepped my WBS too wet in the past. Figuring out alot ways I did things wrong in the past and correcting them.

5 days since I put the small wedges to this jar. Grain is looking right now and I’m happy with the prep. Myc is moving a little slow. Assuming some bacteria from it being T1.

You guys see anything clearly bacterial yet? Thinking about shaking it later today to get some more inoculation points and see how it recovers.

You should clone that mushroom on agar (or whatever you're using).  You can have more confidence in cleanliness if you do it yourself.
