I'm with evly on this one, thought it looked strange from this angle and would like to see other shots. Spore print doesn't look very purple either

Sorry, lighting was really shitty last night, two more images for you, but it’s really starting to dry out now
Smell is right, look was right when picked, and stem bruised blue where I pinched it off.

I see the purple in the gills, I’m fairly certain I can see the bluing. I’d say they are fine, but don’t take my word for it. Wait for a TI.

Getting close to go time! Nice to not have an ongoing drought and a solid El Nino is only gonna help our chances.

Well I just found a bunch more in a new spot, but I’m going to have to do an ID request on these in a separate thread bc the smell / coloring is throwing me off just a bit. Appreciate your feedback!

Apologies everyone, wasn’t trying to hijack the thread, but I do appreciate people looking out for me.

This can only be a good thing! Trust me
unless they fill the whole space with concrete
still no caerulescens, but 2 different kinds of gyms
luteofolius im guessing

and maybe g.brandlei? (also a guess, due to the gill attachment, bulkier stem, and more yellow color

Clay is also denser than water. 1 cubic foot of clay is about 80lbs.
cool to note that cause 40 lbs does sound like alot, but that cleared it right up lol

Yes, but all the heavy machinery, plus there will be the tree lines and something as big as that has to have proper drainage systems and new landscaping and trails too.

those are definitely some gyms, id recommend cutting them into semi-large chunks, enclosing them in a coffee filter, bringing some water to a boil, and tossing the packages in there, squishing them real good without breaking the coffee filters. (i use a little lemon juice, and i crush up a vitamin c pill or two and throw them in there at the same time). after a few minutes turn off the heat, (they need a little heat to help the extraction but not too much cause it can degrade i think) let them sit for a good 10-15 minutes while squishing them every so often. then when your done pull the "tea" bags out and giving them one last good squish to get the majority of the liquid they soaked up out and bottoms up. i usually fill two tall cups up with water for my measurement.
one of the most intense trips ive ever had was from about 110-ish FRESH grams of gymnopilus done that way split in half between me and my girl (one tall cup each). the trip also lasted almost 2 days, you can definitely tell theres other things than just the psilocybin in them. also expect some realistic strange dreams.
on the flip side though there has been a time or two where we used like 80-ish fresh grams and only felt it mildly. er on the side of caution though from my experience gyms can vary wildly

I agree with her. Everyone takes home some mycelium in their pocket at some point but poaching spots is lame and selfish. Idc how you rationalize "saving" it in your mind. Trees don't mean much to caerulescens anyways. Let things run their course. Construction is one of the indicators you can use to find them.
In other more exciting news, the summer mycoblitz starts tomorrow! I heard about it on a podcast with Alan Rockefeller. Anyone can send in 10 collections and they will be dna barcoded for free. There's a lot of good stuff out right now- it's a perfect time to send in some gyms, pans, or anything you think is cool. You can read more here: Summer MycoBlitz - iNaturalist

Me and my best friend split about roughly 10 grams maybe a lil more, but duuuuude. They are so chill compared to cubes/whalez. I must say, i'll be picking more ASAP.
