Crypto Conundrum
    #28131748 - 01/09/23 05:53 AM (1 year, 19 days ago)

A few days ago I was looking at the crypto markets on a popular crypto app.

One particular crypto I have some exposure to was really bottoming out (my opinion).

I was kind of just looking around and accidentally clicked a buy $100 worth button. I was immediately credited with $100 worth of this cryptocurrency but I knew I didn't have $100 in the bank account that is linked to the crypto app.

Without hesitation I logged into my bank and transferred $150 to the account that is linked to the crypto app.

I went back into the crypto app and attempted to purchase another $10 worth of a different crypto  and got a message that said my bank account was no longer actively linked and I needed to re-link my bank account to make the purchase.

Linking up a bank account is a bit of a hassle so I moved on to other projects for the day.

It's been almost a week now and I haven't had any messages from the bank or the crypto app. The cryptocurrency in question has gone up about 8% since.

I was out with some friends yesterday and several times thought to mention the incident but did not for whatever reasons.

I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience and how it played out.

I know I owe the app people $100 and have left the money in the account that is linked but it's still just sitting there waiting.

Any suggestions on what to do next?

depends what app

some apps let you buy and sell crypto but can't let you withdraw it, so do you actually even own it

I own the crypto.

It was probably my bank lagging because I use a credit union and they always lag on the transfers. Been charged for late payments ect whenever I pay my CC bill on the last day and then have to make phone calls to straighten it out.

Just noticed that the money was transferred a couple days later.

So the app got my money and the crypto I bought is currently up 25% from the time I purchased it!
