How to break down all mucilage in San Pedro cactus?
    #27967819 - 09/25/22 04:17 PM (1 year, 4 months ago)

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to break down all mucilage from San Pedro cactus?
In this Youtube video at time 01:14:30, he talks about how he breaks down the mucilage of the San Pedro so that the San Pedro trip starts within 30 min and ends in about 3-4 hours instead of starting within 2 hours and ending after 12 hours.

I don't know about breaking it down but what works for me is making tea that has been filtered well and decanted away from all the sludge. Even pure mescaline for me lasts 10 hours or more with a full dose.

I don't want to detail the whole process but basically you brew your tea, filter well then allow the sludge to settle for 24 hours. Siphon off the clear liquid and then wash the sludge with fresh water, repeat 3x on the sludge. Combine all clear liquids and reduce to 50-100mL. Some more sludge falls out after reduction. It contains a high percentage of mescaline. It mostly dissolves with heat. Drink the reduced brew warm.

You could try and improve this process by saving sludge from different parts of the process and doing a full scale extraction. There may be trapped mescaline in the sludge still. If there is more than 50mg it might be worth adding additional washes to the brewing process to recover it.

Sounds iffy, like the other guy said even pure extracted stuff lasts a good 10-12 hours I thinking breaking the mucus would just help with digestion and nausea. Also 30 mins seems very very short for that alkaloid
