First time grower 2

This is my first time growing. I’ve read a lot and watched many videos. I’ve honestly been thoroughly enjoying each step of the process.
I started this batch of GT via spore syringe, in a grain spawn bag on 12/10. Moved it over to a tub on 1/1. The substrate is a mixture of coir and verm.
This is what the surface looks like today. It’s very consistent across the entire surface.
Anyway, wish me luck for the rest of the journey!

Finger crossed 🤞
I wanted to post a picture of the whole surface but there is too much condensation to do so. 😅

Decided to open the tub today (for the first time) to get some better pics. First picture is just a general overview of the surface. The second picture is some 'fuzz' I noticed in one of the corners - does this look like an issue?
Anyway, the surface is getting whiter/more taken over by mycelium by the day!

I've been keeping this tub between 82 - 86F. Based on the surface conditions (which looks like it's ready to pin any day), should I lower the temps to the 70 - 74F range?
Also, I taped the holes shut because humidity was too low. Should I remove the tape, exposing the filter pucks and start misting when humidity/surface droplets are needed?
Thanks in advance!

Your temps should be lower than that already IMO. I think ideal is 70-78F at any given point. Yes you’re correct only mist when the tiny water droplets disappear from the surface.

Since I'm running automation to control the temp & lighting, would it be a good idea to have higher temps when the light is on and lower temps when the light is off? I was just thinking of the natural habitat, but maybe overthinking it...

No. My previous statement. Myc will produce its own heat so it may already be hotter actually in the substrate than the outside.

Neat. Can you post a picture of the whole tray/tub? Im looking for a design to test my future master cultures.
-------------------- Seems like 99% of people in shroomery mushcult use the Bucket Tek. I do not and for saying this they call me arrogant cause i dont have pictures of my own mushrooms here. The mycoforum of my country just got their proof of shroomerys hostility. I do like it here though becaus of the agar. The archives are valuable.

this is the best kit grow ive seen in a long time. OP you won the lottery, dont expect success like this every time you squirt spores in a mail order grain bag. its a very low percentage technique
i recommend getting set up to make agar plates and pressure cook grain jars so you can clone some of your future fruits and replicate this success with high certainty

Here are a couple of pictures. One from the outside and one from the inside that shows all of the smaller holes (covered up with breathable tape). I can see from the first picture that the room temp is now down to 74F

Some bacterial stress but should be fine if you keep it steady. Maby lower the temps just a bit? Can help with the stress. Looks good.

Let there be PINS!!! Lowered the temps for two days and misted the outer edges (maybe 2 inches around the perimeter) because they looked a little dry. It actually started pulling away from the edge - maybe 1/8" or so. Anyway, thanks everyone for the advice so far

100+ pins in the tub now. My question is that some of the surface water droplets are yellowish in color and didn't know if I should be concerned or not. I will say that everything seems to smell ok. I'm almost wondering if the issue is due to my well water, which turns everything a brownish red color.

Yellow is usually signs of metabolites which means contamination. You’re good though just let it run.

Looks good to me. Getting pins means you did everything right.
I’m also new, but I’ll leave you with this. The time I spent fucking with my first tubs at this stage would have been better spent looking for a proper dehydrator

Gonna have to say no on that one, you can royally fuck everything up (including spawn) and still get pins in many cases lol
