Imo the answer is always human nature, and because we're humans.

I exploit things, there is even a chance it can make things directly or indirectly better.

Well none of us exist outside of capitalism, so yeah.
I can choose to not exploit anyone by dying alone in the woods.

But as you decompose, those critters are gonna exploit you.
Do you have an instance, say, outside of the capitalism bubble...in which something would not be exploited?

I blame the ones in power at the top that keep secrets from the masses.
Of course i dont know what secrets nor can i name names or provide court approved documentation of this but i know its going on.
Secrets suck.

That doesn't mean we should make an institution of it. Everyone shits and farts but we don't center our society on shitting and farting.

Not centered on, but we do build infrastructure to support human waste. I shit but it's not the center of my world. All of the things we build reflect human nature in relation to available means tho IMO

Can you offer an alternative? As far as I can tell, the only way that societies can work on a large scale is with specialization of labor. As long as there's specialization of labor, there's exploitation.
If you disagree, please offer a paradigm for specialization of labor that includes no exploitation of another's work and skills for ones own gain.

I'm not arguing for a magical utopia where everyone is altruistic at all times so I don't see any need to defend that position. I'm pretty sure I agreed with your position that everyone exploits everyone to some degree or another. My argument is one in favor of moderation and mitigation. I think it is reasonable to believe there is a desirable middle ground between elevating unbridled greed to the highest possible virtue and living as hunter-gatherers
