RI Pan subb's construction hay... Update!!
    #2808629 - 06/19/04 11:02 AM (19 years, 9 months ago)

First off I suck at resizing pictures and I'm in a hurry
Off to a Bachelor party.... So excuse me if they suck
will post better ones later...

I found about 30 very nice size pan subbs today
fruiting from a bale of construction hay on the
side of the road..

Now this was not an easy task.. I looked over about 400
bales before I found my prize...These are a few of the fruits
I haven't noticed blueing as of yet but in my previous finds
it took a few hours before it was very noticeable....

and that's all for now folks.. rest assured I have a safe place to
store this hay bale... for the next flush....

wow, excellent discovery.

i think this is a first for this mushroom hunting forum to see (or hear of) a wild psychoactive mushroom fruiting, in Rhode Island.

Sweet discovery, hope you find more, Panaeolus subbalteatus!~

I asked Gary Lincoff where hecame up with the name blue foot and he said he just made it up for lack of anything better.

Only those who hav looked at his Audubon Field Guide sometimes use that epithet.

Simon and Schulster whose shroom book was also edited by Gary Lincoff was not allowed ti include any Psilocybe mushrooms intheir field guides.

Hi MJ,,, Simon and Schulster was my first field guide
Then I purchased the Audubon field guide..
Thats where I must have aquired the reference to
the blue foot psilocybe...

I gave the simon and shulster to a friend who
is beginning to get into mushroom hunting... but recommended
he buy the audubon field guide...
The BMC is hosting a seminar this aug or sept
Gary Lincoff is supposed to be a speaker..
I plan to attend...

Happy Hunting... Nofindum...

I have a quick question....
In the last picture I posted in the original post
The mushrooms to the back right.. are kind of bleached...
Has anyone noticed pan subbs bleached like that before...??????

They dropped a very noticable black spore print.. and were fruiting
from the same area as the others... and meet all other criteria
for macro features... The bleached effect just seems a bit odd
as I have never seen this personally... Oh by the way went back today and got some more.. they are monsters.....pics to follow....

Well I got just over an oz dry... I'm still gathering
panaeolus subbalteatus from this hay bail..
I've also found 2 other bails of hay producing..
I've got my eye on them and will be posting pictures
once the next flush comes in...

I consumed 7 grams dry and had a mild experience..
Nice mood very mild visual distortions.. I'm currently taking
an ssri.. I think this had a counter effect... I don't know I remember reading that I think... any input...?????

if you are still interested in more info about the ssri hallucinogen thing, here is an article someone wrote about different ssri's and how they change the psychedelic experience.
