That article is inaccurate. There is plenty of evidence of an ongoing relationship between Iraq and Al Qaeda. Even the media (Time and Newsweek and others) have reported on those links as far back as the late Nineties.
What Bush and Cheney and now the 9/11 commission say is that there has been no solid evidence found that Iraq helped to plan the 9/11 attacks or that Iraq participated in the 9/11 attacks.
On page 4 of today's (Sunday June 20th) Week in Review section of the New York Times (the weekend op-ed section) there is an extensive list of quotes from various admin officials about what they actually did say about Al-Qaeda/Hussein links. The New York Times is no friend of Bush but they didn't find any lies. There is a small opinion article next to the link where someone seems to be expanding on the meaning of the word "link" to find an objection but it's pretty weak. If anyone here knows how to post a link to this page it would be helpful.
