Are Humans Special?...
    #2810927 - 06/20/04 12:31 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

...from a universal point of view?

This thought comes from the movie "Artificial Intelligence", where at the end the alien says that they thought humans could finally bring an answer to the universal question "what's the meaning of life" . And also that what we call "spirit" is part of the answer. I'm not sure those are the exact words of the movie.

I know that no one can really bring an answer to this question, because if we are really special, there's no way we could be aware of that. I'm just calling for different opinions.

But what if planet earth and humans are at the heart of aliens' attention right now? (I'm talking about 4th density and above beings of course).
Or would you rather think that we are following the typical path of evolution, except we are probably having a harder time evolving than other extra-terrestrial civilizations?

In my opinion, since the universe is constantly changing and since humans are brand new beings born from it, there is a possibility that we could bring something new to this universe, we could be some kind of key.
What do you say?

I don't see why we would have a harder time evolving than extraterrestrial beings. How do you know alien civilizations don't have the same problems?

I'm sure other worlds are having a hard time evolving as well, just like i'm sure that some have no trouble evolving. Its just that I feel that we are having a particularly hard time doing so, and I'm sure you'll at least agree with me on that point

Huh? There is no individual effort in evolving physically.

i dont think special has a universal gauge.. its relative to the observer.

Mankind is just lucky (or unlucky) enough to have risen to a higher intelligence than the other animals. Cut and dried. Man is an animal no more or less.

Evolution is not a conscious act, it is the result of interaction, competition and selection over vast periods of time. What do you mean by "4th density"? That sounds rather, uh, dodgy. Just remember: what you see on drugs is created by you and you alone. You have never met an alien, dude.

I guess I'm just having a hard time explaining my thoughts, cuz no one seems to understand what I'm trying to say. Since I hate to be misunderstood this bad, I just went out and rented AI and picked up the lines of what the alien actually says at the end:

"David, I often felt a sort of envy of human beings and that thing they call "spirit". Human beings had created a million explanations of the meaning of life in art, poetry, in mathematical formulas. Certainly, human beings must be the key to the meaning of existence, but human beings no longer existed."

But I understand how this might sound silly, because like I said before, there is no way we could know if the alien is right or not.
Anyways, I just brought that up because its just something to think about...

Mycil, "Evolution is not a conscious act, it is the result of interaction, competition and selection over vast periods of time."

We may not be evolving so to speek physicaly but I do see the huge amout of evolving in todays society. In the past 1000 years we have evolved so much.

Now are we special? Of course we are! But So is all things in the world/universe, we shouldnt place our selfs on a pedistal though.

Now from my expieriences and in my point of view all things contain spirit.

I don't think there is an objective property or view on anything within existence. Therefore, relating something like our "special" nature relative to the universe as a whole is impossible. But my view is that yes, we are special, because we are a part of an infinite perfect system of existence. However, we are not more special than a rock, not to discredit our specialness at all

humans being the key to the universe? its a good thought.

but who is the key for, who would put it in the lock?

more importantly to me, who put the lock there for them? themselves? something more, 5d beings? maybe 5d is god, is the all encompassing.

i personally dont think we are any more special than the said "rock". we are not special. we are novelty items. pretty to look at, possably interesting, sometimes not, and decidingly of no real import but sentimental value perhaps. nothing special. the universe *could* live without us. just like i *could* live without that pokemon keychain i got.

peace though.

ahh, finally someone who recognizes that it could be a possibility!
of course from our own eyes we don't see ourselves as anything more special than a rock, but who knows how extraterrestrial beings might see us?

As for who/what would we be the key for, I doubt it would be any kind of god or whatever...but i am an atheist so its obvious that i would say something like that. I'd like to know what a religious person would have to say about that.

And yes, the universe could live without us, but could its inhabitants? Hahah, ya i know, i'm goina bit far here, i'll shut up now

True dat, but many alien species like to keep humans as pets.
