Goliath Thai Grow
    #28108030 - 12/21/22 09:41 PM (1 year, 4 months ago)

Hello, long time lurker, first time poster. Been growing mushrooms for a little while. Not sure if this is the right place to post this

I have started a grow of Goliath Thai (Panaeolus Cambodginiensis). I started my preparation about 6 months ago by isolating the Mycelium in agar to prevent any infection and starting with 2 - sterilized one quart grain jars with gypsum, popcorn, rye berries and a little so called organic cow poop and added the Agar Mycelium. One spawn jar has done vary well and the other has some Mycelium growing in spots and both are vary white. Jars might be a little dry and not rotten at all.

The other day, I prepared four jars with gypsum, brown rice, small amount of cow manure, wheat bran and vermiculite.  I then did some jar to jar transfers from my better jar of Goliath Thai Mycelium 4 days ago. They seem to be doing well so far and Mycelium is taking off. I have them in the dark at 78-79 degrees.

I've been having good luck using variations of wood ash, gypsum, straw, cow manure, wheat bran and vermiculite covered in boiling water and sitting for a day, Then baking it at 250 degrees for pasteurization of the substrate to fruit in. I have a controlled environment with a HEPA filter machine and temperature control.

I have read many threads on Goliath Thai and in my mind none are really definitive. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

I love this hobby, Bodis
