I think organised anarchy would be best for everyone
    #28107662 - 12/21/22 05:03 PM (1 year, 1 month ago)

I think people (and probably everything else as well) do and feel better when they feel free.

I think we should transition to organised anarchy as quickly as possible where no one owns land (instead it's shared with common sense in mind), all drugs are completely unrestricted, work credits could be earned through doing work and be used as currency, desirable items can be used for trade, there not be any laws and instead common sense is used. Instead of electing politicians whoever is interested could vote on various things themselves online, for example. Armies or police wouldn't be needed - especially if people can access cannabis and psychedelics whenever they like (I think cannabis and psychedelics should be free or as close to free as possible).

I imagine this working out perfectly and the vibe would raise higher and higher, forever.

There was a pretty cool brewery called Imagine Nation. They got really involved in the community and hosted tons of local charity events. Lots of ideas to give back and energy making it happen.

They lasted about 4 years and then sold the place. Bummer.

Honestly, I think you may believe that what you describe is a good idea but I really think you do not have enough experience in life. I do not know that for a fact. It is just my impression.

When people say they would precede “anarchy” they seem to be referring to their desire to live in a society where morality is u restricted. This includes having no laws against substances, no laws against whom people marry, and in your case you seem to think it would mean people wouldn’t be able to own land.

A society in anarchy , in my opinion, would be a horrible place. Only the people who already have a lot of power and resources may prefer this society because it is in our current society the rich people and big companies have limits imposed on them by the government. And that is assuming they are already very powerful and remain very powerful.

A society that is anarchy means you would have to accept that poor people die without healthcare. Without food. Disabled people beg for food. Powerful people form gangs and tribes and get lots of tools to further increase their power. Much more killing. No restrictions on anything. Basically, I have no idea why you or anybody would want that.

The best conceptually ideal society is a society that has a government that does not get into business of morality legislation and takes care of the poor and of the sick people. That cannot happen in an anarchy. Big constitutional democracies with an emphasis on human rights and safeguards against tyranny of the majority is the best ideal society.

“My political opinions lean more and more to Anarchy (philosophically understood, meaning the abolition of control not whiskered men with bombs) — or to ‘unconstitutional’ Monarchy. ... Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so to refer to people. ... The most improper job of any man, even saints (who at any rate were at least unwilling to take it on), is bossing other men. Not one in a million is fit for it, and least of all those who seek the opportunity."

I've always liked this J.R.R. Tolkien quote and it reflects my views pretty well. Anarchy, however, is only conceivable in the case where everyone involved in it is motivated to create a robust society and has the intellectual capacity to help bring it about, the emotional intelligence to recognize the value of mutual aid and building bonds, and the physical capacity and material basis to sustain and defend the society.

Constitutional democracy can work if the vast majority of people fit the above description. It requires a truly literate, ethical, and self-reflecting citizen as the rule, not the exception. Without this, people will eventually realize they can use their votes to be given money and privileges by the state, and politicians will realize they can buy their votes by promising money and privileges. People will also vote for whoever promises to harm their enemies or competitors.

Democracy seems to always turn into oligarchy or bureaucratic rule. That's the case of all of the liberal democracies now. They are vehicles for the preservation and advancement of the interests of an oligarchic elite and the managerial class with which it has a mostly symbiotic relationship (with some tensions emerging in volatile times).

Our knowledge-generating institutions are instead consensus-generating institutions, providing the intellectual basis by which 'democratic' regimes can justify carrying out their existing agendas. When the agendas prove disastrous, criminal, and immoral, accountability is diffused backwards throughout those institutions and absorbed by them, disappearing from sight as all the decision-makers and their mouthpieces discuss 'legal processes,' 'procedures', and in serious cases even 'reforms.' Our problem-solving institutions, similarly, tend to make the problems they are designed to address progressively worse. Their primary motivation over time becomes justifying and perpetuating their own existence.

Although I'm anarchic by disposition, I wonder how such a society could ever come about in the modern era. I think this is why some anarchists say anarchy is a daily personal practice rather than a political system. Whether anarchy could be practiced by humanity at scale, to its benefit, depends on your view of human nature and how it might be regulated by technologies.

I think I would rephrase this as: Each person is a genius in a particular thing..

Like each person  has a topic that they are geniuses at..

Then the next question is: what are you a genius at?

Where is the evidence that each person is even contextually a genius, or particularly good at something? Most people aren't exceptionally smart or talented in any area. What's more common is people who are far above average at one or two things also have significantly higher capacity or potential than the average person in most other areas too.

Anarchy just means those with the most guns win. Its the law of the jungle. Its the opposite of freedom. Government is a nessasery evil, or a nessasery good depending on how you view it and depending on the level of corrpution vs checks and balances.

If there could be a society where people always do their freewill and never commit a heinous immoral act.

Then these people would be a reliable anarchist government so to speak..

sadly though, psychedelics & weed dont fix everyone, and i think we can all agree in that we envy the sober for being able to live such wonderful lives without needing any sort of "high" or "buzz".

'Monkeys with guns' are, all else equal, probably a prerequisite for an anarchic society. I think monopolization of violence by one actor is considered antithetical to most conceptions of anarchism, and the best way to prevent such monopolization is for every household to be armed, trained, and prepared to use force to fend off threats to personal and collective goods.

But no large groups of monkeys with tanks and thermonuclear weapons is probably also a prerequisite. Paradoxical.

Utopia is an impossibility unless human nature changes. Problem is every single utopian vissionary who ever got into power tried to forcebly change human nature and ended up greating hell on earth.
