Horse Poo
    #2810754 - 06/20/04 10:31 AM (13 years, 10 months ago)

I havent' found many tek's or logs about using just straight horse manure as a substrate. I'm thinking that it might be best to use a 75% manure 25% straw mixture, just to get the moisture-holding straw in there, but I'm not sure. Any recommendations?

I'm thinking to let the manure dry, mix with a bit of straw, pasteurize, spawn, incubate. Any suggestions? Maybe mix in some vermiculite?
thx

i just use straight horse poo, horses are feed straw so it's already in there shit, it's not as dense as cow shit so noo need for straw really. you don't have to let the manure dry but you do have to leach it to get all the ammonia out, then all i do is make sure it's the correct moistue content, pasturize, spawn, and fruit, works excellent/
