Theres very few contraindicated prescription medications. I think it's limited to lithium. Plenty of others can potentiate the effect of mushrooms though and other medications would indicate that people have heart disease, psychosis or other conditions that can be contraindicated.

One thing I would suggest is to be careful of SSRI's.
It isn't so much the danger of mixing mushrooms & SSRI's, but the idiot advice that come from amateur tripsitters, wannashamans, dumbass unqualified "therapists" who suggest people cold turkey stop the before a trip.
If I did that while on 200mg of Zooloft, I'd be in fetal position, weeping.
Beware of idiots, they're everywhere, and sometimes people trust them.

Yes, SSRIs cause a discontinuation/withdrawal syndrome that varies from person to person, some don't actually feel anything, but others get severe worsening of symptoms, and new psychiatric symptoms even, such as 'brain zaps', migraine and panic. SSRI withdrawal doesn't mess around. Tread at your own risk.

I agree 100% about being cautious with SSRIs. It's tempting to just stop taking them so the shrooms work, but they need tapering off carefully, ideally with medical suppport. Worse still though is using Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), either on prescription for depression, or in the form of 'natural supplements' like Syrian Rue in a bid to overcome the attenuation caused by SSRIs as this has the potential to cause excess seratonin and possibly serotonin syndrome. It's possible - but risky at all but the lowest doses.
Having said that, I'm currently titrating down on SSRIs whilst micro-dosing on shrooms to try to mitigate the impact, in the hope of being able to trip in a few months time!

I used to take 20mg fluoxetine(prozac) like almost ten years ago. I would dose quite often on mushrooms and never had any issues but I was on the starting dose and it worked well for me at the time. I did notice I had to eat more mushrooms then the average person.
Usually my go to back then was like a quarter of some descent AA+'s when most people only needed an 8th and sometimes I'd end up eating say ten or 12 grams or even more and would trip face but at a quarter I was tripping pretty fucking hard.
Basically between that 6-8 gram mark and those higher doses I took were not really necessary I just liked hallucinating out of my fucking mind and having deep experiences that were biblical to say the least.
Now a days I'm not on any psych meds and prefer 2-5 grams PE varieties mainly. Not to say taking an SSRI and combining tryptamines can't cause harm but I myself never experienced any issue and never stopped taking my meds just to trip.
When I did get off SSRI's I tapered down by basically not taking my Prozac for how ever many days until I started feeling shitty which for me was basically when I would just start to get the zaps. Whenever I would notice any kind of withdrawl at however many days had gone by I would just take one of my meds and I would be completely fine from that for however many days again til it returned and I would repeat the process just by going off how I felt.
Over a month or maybe 2 I ended up not needing them anymore but it is not something you want to stop cold turkey that is for sure a bad idea and really there's no need to torture ones self.
There was no rhyme or reason to how I lowered the dose x amount for however many days and then x amount for this many more.
I simply just paid attention to how I was feeling and at any hint of withdrawal I would just take one and all symptoms subsided but I was on a low dose and it was the only psych med I was on which made it more manageable for me. Not saying that ik this will work for anyone else but it did work for me.
But I hear lithium and psychedelics are a no no as far as possible serious interactions occuring like seizures and mania. I hear others tolerate it well also. Same for SSRI's or SNRI's.
