enlarged ventricles?
    #2809598 - 06/19/04 10:00 PM (13 years, 4 months ago)

So i work in a neurobio lab, and we do fMRI studies with patients.  Today between two of them, the radiologist asked for a volunteer to test a spectrometry scan, and i volunteered under the condition that he would supply me with a volumetric (MPRAGE) scan.

So i did, and he did.

When i saw my MPRAGE, everyone commented on the fact that my lateral ventricles were larger than normal.  I have to admit, after seeing many volumetric scans, they did look a bit on the large side.

I'll post my scans when i get them in a few days.

Any ideas?

The things i can immidiately think of are schitzophrenia or hydrocephalus...or of course, just abnormally large ventricles.

fun stuff :frown:

I dunno - if they're within normal parameters, I'd say things are fine. But then again, I'm no Neurologist! If it concerns you, ask a Doctor - I know I would!

My, my, what large ventricles you have!

Nice quote in the signature. It's been a long time favorite of mine and sums up the basis of philosophy as we know it!
