There's so many different ways to train them it's really a matter of personal preference. My strategy is to aim for 8 colas per plant, meaning 8 branches and nothing more. Two branches come out of each node, looks like you have 4-5 nodes now. so 8-10 potential branches. My idea would be to gently pinch off the growing tip, forcing the plant to redirect hormones into those 8-10 branches. Then I might even bend the plant over 90 degrees, tuck any big fan leaves below their respective branches, and try to give each branch an even chance to grow. In a couple weeks, a couple branches will clearly not be keeping up so I snip those off and focus on 8. Then I use wire to pull the branches apart and direct them outward. You want an upside down cone, or basically a bouquet shape.
This photo from when I was showing AKA is a good example:

It looks like he topped the plant around the fifth node and grew out 8 secondary branches. And he "lollipopped" the tertiary branches up to a certain height. Then I circled a few more tertiaries that could be removed. But he did a good job of pulling the branches out and making a nice bouquet / bush.
Found some pics from my first grow that kind of show what I'm talking about.

Yeah because they would start to be mains also. If topping is all your doing there then it's perfect where you marked. Try not to damage the tiny new growth tips on the sides of the stem.

How are these looking? One in the back left has been really lagging and looked like it wasn't even cannabis until today, one in center was just put in 2 days ago so it's a bit behind, the other 3 I think look nice and strong they're at day 8 now, is this how it should look 8 days in?

They're looking pretty good. Some of them are struggling just a bit with how much nutrients are in ocean forest, that appears to be what's going on with that little one in back. Front left seems to have pushed through and is now feeding and growing regular. Personally I would not start feeding them quite yet since they are in ocean forest, but when they get a little bigger it will be time to start with a very diluted vege feed.
A general rule of thumb is to start feeding young plants at half or quarter strength to see how they react. If they show signs of wanting more you can bump it up a bit at the next feeding. Remember, most nutes are made for soilless mediums where the plants will be sustained entirely on the water in feed. The soil you are using has lots of nutrients in it and doesn't need as much feed at first. It's much easier to recover from underfeeding than overfeeding, especially since you're still in vege and not flowering yet.

Awesome thanks for the insight. I'll be around posting more pics as it goes but how many weeks out do you think until I give them nutrients, I am at day 8 so like maybe 2-3 more weeks? I purchased the 3 pack of fox farm nutes you can sorta see in that photo
I still haven't gotten the exhaust fan, my friend told me not to order one because he has one for me but I don't want to wait too long and cause trouble waiting for him trying to save me $110

Get your own fan, you needed that before you popped seeds. It is an integral part of the grow and waiting on grow friends is not a good bet. You can get the ac infinity cloudline 4" for $99 bucks of less if you look around, but don't get the "light" version.

The plants will tell you, no one else can. But yea probably 2-3 weeks or around the 3rd node. When the leaves start yellowing it's time for nutrients. Still pH the plain water you give them until then though to keep the soil nutrients available.

Ok so I added a second trellis prepping for flower. Still may have to cull island chill or sour diesel. Could be males. I'm surprised I can't tell yet. Did a light defoliation today and the other day . They got their nutrients, lights, and support. 4 days till flip.

How do you guys flip? I usually do a hard flip. Straight into 12/12. Someone else may leave in darkness for a day or 2 1st. What do you guys do?

I love the mainlined look. So clean.
I just flip them to 12/12. The only superstitious thing I do is calculate the DLI. If I have them vegging for 18 hours at 800 umol, I want that first day of 12/12 to be at 1200 umol so the plant doesn't sense a drop in DLI. My theory is it minimizes stretch. Some people don't lower their light or adjust anything when flipping to 12/12 and the plants I think etoliate a bit trying to reach previous light levels.

Try weaving the branches around the screen and you could wait a couple weeks and fill up the screen. But careful cuz it’s already packed full. It’s going to be real tight in there so it’s probably a good thing that 1 or 2 are males…

The s4 will work great, I think that's the one I have. You won't really need the filter until the plants start to get a bit of size one them. Some strains definitely stink a bit in vege, but a few weeks into flower is when they start to put out that WEED IS GROWING HERE smell. You can skip on the filter for now if you need, but they can be found on amazon and ebay for around $40. ac infinity has their own brand of 4" filter, I think I have a vivosun 4x12 and it works great. No smell leaks after about two and a half years of use. I'm a bit shocked to be honest, but it's nice to be surprised in a good way
What's real cool is when your plants are filling the tent and you have the filter running it's going to keep the air in your house very clean. The plants add oxygen too. My respiratory health is always better when I have plants going in the tent.

I flip them to 12/12 and slightly lower the light, but not by much. I've played with other methods but they all seem to be superstition and there's no benefit beyond a flip
YMMV

I think that's what I'll do. Same thing I always do. Hard flip. 4 days in counting. I hope they stretch a little and I might not even need the 2nd trellis. I never used a 2nd one before. Never really fully commit to a trellis at all.
So hopefully this will be very rewarding.
Enjoil, I don't want a male. I want all female this run. There be enough space. I don't think I fill a space this well before. I wish I could let them veg longer but I'll be out of smoke at that point. I don't think I even have enough smoke for 10weeks.
Gotta slow down, help my tolerance. My wife hasn't been smoking much cause it makes her anxiety worse. She's a worry wort.

I know ya don’t want a male brother. I was just saying it’s good a couple might be male cuz when you take them out you will have more space for the ladies you do have….
