Traded an ounce of my haze for an ounce of bubba kush a buddy of mine grew and found around 15 seeds so far. Also got a bag seed from a couple grams of sour diesel . Looking forward to getting them in the ground next spring!

I love growing bag seeds. I miss when I had no clue what a strain was and would just grow out the bag seeds to see what's what. It's fun getting wild variation.

Most of them were from one bud, almost like that one section got stressed out.

All of this is the on your butt with giggles icky sticky, and each grow had a VERY low budget. Mostly I just build an organic soil, let it cook off for a few months, then water and supplement with feeds as needed. I try to watch the plants and listen to them when they say what they need, not force them to be what I want. I think growing dank top shelf comes down to developing a relationship with the plant and helping it reach it's potential instead of trying to force and control it.
I'm also ruthless with genetics.....

Same here...Granted I grow outdoors so my budget is going to be considerably lower than an indoor grow, but I've cultivated some pretty dank/high quality flowers with out putting much $ into it.
I prep/build up some organic soil a few months before the grow season, I actually re-used the same soil for several years in a row & just kept adding amendments/nutrition, and then just mostly water with occasional teas/ferments and top-dressing the soil through out the grow season....I have never once checked the pH of my water or soil or anything like that either. I have quite a "keep it simple" approach to growing and it has worked wonderfully for me, though I feel I can dial things in even better and I certainly still have a lot of room to improve/lots to learn.
Genetics goes a long way too....Over the several years of growing I have under my belt I've noticed certain "strains"/genetics just REALLY stand out above others. MAC1, Slymer, and the "Thin Mint" cut of GSC are a few that I've grown that stand out from a lot of the others I've grown over the years. If I had the $ to invest in seeds, and the space/time to do so, I'd be doing pheno hunts with seeds from certain breeders to find/clone/work with plants that preform & produce the quality I'm looking for.
I never really "pump up" my plants or try to push em'...just give em' what they need along with lots of sunshine and occasional water. I feel certain teas/plant extracts, stuff like alfalfa and kelp, can do a lot to "naturally" "boost" a plant's growth/potential. I've never used any "synthetics"/salts or PGRs and my flowers always turn out fairly large, very dense, and absolutely soaked/coated/oozing in terpy rich resin.
I was just holding some flowers that I grew during the summer of 2021, merely holding them in the palm of my hand with no pressure/squeeze on them at all, and after holding them for a few seconds my palms and fingers were coated & glistening/shining with resin and very greasy/sticky. The flowers are over a year old now since harvested and still quite sticky/oily.

I keep a jar for bag seeds and random finds. As much seeding as I do I find a lot lol. Little shits get everywhere no mater how careful.
I like my home grown mildly stressed out weed better than even the best dispo too lol. We have a few farms that do a good job, but even they will admit they are more concerned with end weight than anything. Most push nutes as hard as they can to up the veg matter. For me it's not so much about veg matter.. it's about resin. Clean flavor. Plus I like to just pluck a bong hit and not have to grind or chizel a piece off. Not real fond of the tumble trimmers final product either. Though it sure would be nice lol. Hate trimming. Salt build ups suck too. What good is the best looking weed if it's virtually unsmokeable? I would agree living soil is the ticket.. for me anyways.
Sorry I was out for a bit. My mother passed a few months back and I lost my healer shortly after. In my house a dog is a kid and loosing one hurts the same. I did get a new dog a few weeks ago. 11 month old Blue Tick x Treeing Walker Coon Hound. Being young she's quite a hound full lol. I've been training her lately and only have a small seed project going atm so not much to look at. Pics of her though.

I do too!
Always a mystery! I enjoy finding out what the plants from bag-seeds grow into, what traits they take on/aesthetics/aroma/etc, whether I know what "strain"/bud the seed came out of or not.
I grew one plant that came from a Thin Mint "bag-seed" (found a few seeds in some Thin Mint that I grew), that plant had a pretty similar structure/aesthetic as Thin Mint but its aroma was so drastically different from TM. Kinda an onion/metallic/potpourri sorta smell, it cured into a somewhat savory essence so I called it "soup" lol.
I have a ton of random seeds I've saved over the years, not enough space or enough life-time to grow em' all lol.
I usually try to pop a few random bag-seeds with each grow I do. The last bag-seeds I grew turned out pretty dank and very similar to the mother/bud they came out of....I have a couple seeds that I found in an ounce of "Face off OG X Kush Mints" this past summer, I will likely pop those next summer to see what they do.

There was no male bits in my outdoor grow but I still wound up with a few seeds. Would you grow Jesus miracle seeds? I don't know of any hemp fields nearby. Maybe a neighbor had a grow. When the hurricane blew through I imagine pollen could really move.
Super happy with how my bag seed grow turned out. The bean from Bubba kush turned out really special. Everyone I've shared it with is says it smells unique.

Selfed it self maybe. Maybe there was one or two bananas that was inside the bud.
Here is my gift to my brother. Got the job finished. You guys like?

It's my own crossings. Plus the LCxCN bx.
He should love this gift. Even if he don't grow them out, it's a pretty thing to look at. I'm happy and proud of these.

Here's my babies today.

Everything going good. Lowered the light and turned up a little. Still doing good. I'm going to move these to 1gal plastic pots. In a couple weeks. I will also switch to 12/12 when I uppot. Trying to do a SOG type thing. Probably be easier to pheno hunt.
Here's the other tent. Filling in nice. All 3 lights on now. I added earth dust boost today. Your supposed to add one week before flower. I'll probably flip in 5 days.

Idk if there is already but make sure you have holes under the solo cups so they can drain and not get a root rot.

Yes there are holes, drains fine, they're looking good now. I had to stop listening to my one buddy because I kept looking shit up and he was giving me a ton of bro science bs.
My next steps I need to start researching, they were planted on the 5th, now it's been 7 days I have no idea when to start feeding, transplant and all that, the 5 gallon ac infinity pots arrived, I still don't have the exhaust though

Your plants are looking a lot better now. Did you even adjust anything or did they just snap out of it? You'll probably want to think about how you want to shape and prune them soon. It's a good sign that they're growing their lateral branches. You could encourage them by tucking back the big fan leaves that are shading the branches. You might even consider topping the plant some point soon here.
