Don't worry, the microplastics inside all of us will have the last laugh.

I gave the plants some water for the first time since I planted them, it was 4-5 days since being planted and I dug down 2 inches it was dry, that's what I should be doing right?  Or am I supposed to let them go straight Sahara dessert so the roots search for water?  My friend said he would've waited longer but I dunno, I was surprised how dry it really was and I'm clearly not over watering either  one way to find out

It's true the top two inches can be dusty while the bottom two inches are soggy, especially when they haven't fully rooted the pot yet. From experience I know what dry feels like when lifting it. I'd keep picking it up each day and watch the plant go straight sahara desert at least once so you see what it feels like when it's starting to wilt. It can bounce back from wilting with no problems as long as you don't let it be wilted for more than 6-12 hours, so don't be afraid to let it dry out. After feeling that out a few times you'll pick up the pot and know "it will probably start wilting tomorrow so now is the time".

Unless you're mulching or able to maintain like 75% humidity during veg potted plants won't ever really root the top inch or two of soil because it's just not hospitable. So digging around on top is not a good representation of what the conditions are in the rootzone.

This is what I mean when I say self-taught, self-funded home grows just don't compete with the top shelf bud. There's dank, and then there's this stuff above which is just on another level. When I get a pound of stuff like this, it's so sticky you can dangle the entire pound from the stem of one bud - it's all glued together. Not in a brick weed way either; just solid dense, thc-coated rocks.

This is what I want to be growing and I'm a little frustrated to not be there after 10k and 5 years. I could literally afford an oz per month over that time period for the same investment and actually have a bedroom. If anyone knows the secrets feel free to share.

The only people here I've seen grow something close to this is hunter hunter and derrayld, but they're working for companies with money and teams of people.

The secret is PGR

Seeds are considered "hemp" in all 50 states in the USA and are legal to buy/trade/sell/boof.

No need for novelty status. Seeds are also legal to import through USA customs and it is encouraged by the USA federal government to acquire from abroad, new hemp genetics in seed form. They will make it through customs.

No worries.

100% PGR. That is not natural.

I thought the secret was flora micro so it's so full of chelated heavy metals that a half lb fits in a half gallon jar to the shoulders. Oh wait, flora micro has pgr's too....:laugh2:

Big commercial grows are crap. It's the self taught mom and pop growers that have the real goods.

All of this is the on your butt with giggles icky sticky, and each grow had a VERY low budget.  Mostly I just build an organic soil, let it cook off for a few months, then water and supplement with feeds as needed.  I try to watch the plants and listen to them when they say what they need, not force them to be what I want.  I think growing dank top shelf comes down to developing a relationship with the plant and helping it reach it's potential instead of trying to force and control it.

I'm also ruthless with genetics.  Clone didn't do what I wanted?  Into the compost bin with thee.  I try to use old stable genetics when I grow, it's not very often that I grow something newfangled.  Nearly every "strain" these days is just a selfed clone or clones reversed and crossed to each other.  It's a bunch of inbred garbage that's not actually a strain at all.  Gotta be stable breeding to be a strain.  It also makes this new stuff very weak and susceptible to problems, at least that's been my experience

It's hard to say why people reach ceilings in their end product, it's not an easy diagnosis process.  I hope you figure out what yours is so you can get to where you want to be.  Maybe run different batches at the same time with different techniques, takes notes, and see what gives you the best results?
