Re-install Javascript
    #2808981 - 06/19/04 04:53 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

Either I'm retarded, or they just make it incredibly difficult to find an installer for Javscript on the internet.

I need to re-install it, there were some bug/virus problems and it's gone.

Can anyone who might have better direction than I help me find an installer for Javascript?

Thanks in advance

You can't reinstall Javascript. It's part of the web browser. I've never heard of Javascript being 'uninstalled' by a bug, virus or any other means. If you can't run JS at all even though your security settings allow it, it might be time to reinstall your browser and/or OS.

Or do you mean Java?

Ive been stuck with the worst trojans and worms for about 2 weeks. Norton stopped scanning, and Ad-aware would find and delete stuff, then next time it ran, it'd find the same shit.

I got Trend's Virus-scan and it worked, and I also got Spy-bot, and that also worked.
In between, I searched the web for info re: some of the files that got fucked up, like user32.exe, and TROJ.GRITZ.A, etc. I guess I followed some bad advice somewhere and somehow got rid of Javascript, not Java.

Shiiit...
I'm attempting to switch over to Firefox (a Mozilla-type browser), hopefully to fix this super-lame problem.

Thanks Ythan, I'll report back

Nice, Firefox is good, and all the javascript stuff works.
I could be overlooking something stupid w/ IE, but I dunno...
I could always try and reinstall MSIE from microsoft.com, but not right now.
Is anyone familiar with the Mozilla browsers? Are there any large disadvantages with them in comparison to MS Internet Explorer?

God Damn I Hate Trojans. They fuck up everything....

im not sure if I follow...but

did you simply have javascripts disabled? you really cant "uninstall" javascripts...

firefox rules - best browser out there in my opinion. www.opera.com is another great one.

disadvantages? nope not really - maybe a little more burden with sitting down and customizing it...but that's not such a good thing  There's nothing about IE that I miss...

Yes, you'll be more than pleased with Firefox 0.9, I think!

I liked .9 but then I had some trouble with - im back with the perfection that was .8 - I'll upgrade once my required extensions are checked in and a few key bugs are worked out.

firefox 1.0 is gonna be the shit.

I went down to .8 from .9 as well. I couldn't get certain features to work how I had them in .8.

I would never use IE again.

Yeah, I don't blame you for not following... I don't even really know what happened.

Fuck IE, Firefox works, that's all I need.  and it rocks!

I'm happy now, my browser works, I found Marathon Durandal demo--reliving the olden days
