I'd transfer the pin from the second dish to a new one, then use what's left to inoculate grain. That second has the myc pheno I look for, more silky/striated than crazy rhizo like your first plate. That's just me, tho.
I'd also transfer pins from the first plate. When all the pin transfer plates are grown out, use those for your next grows.
I grow at 22 to 24C, and my spawn to harvest average for nats is 26 days.

I did some Nat work today. Thought Iโd post some pics.
This is what I have left of my November harvest. Iโve given away (and taken) about 5 ounces. These jars are one ounce dried per quart jar.

Here are some jars (about 45 or so) that are almost done colonizing:

Here are 48 quarts of newly prepped Rye ready for the PC tomorrow and g2g this weekend.

Here are my master nat jars waiting to inoculate more jars:

Here is my one grain jar that may be failing. The silicone ring that seals the lid slipped during the g2g. Weโll see if fruits can come from this:

Everyone on my Christmas list is getting nats this year! And I should have plenty more with over 90 more jars in the pipeline. I guess Iโm a little obsessed with these.
My next trip is going to be before the end of the year. My GF and I will be having our 2nd nat trip together soon.
Hopefully Iโll start cloning some fruit in the next batch. Iโve still never successfully cloned a fruit.
All of this is from one suspect agar plate:

Second MS grow, first flush (such as it is) once again leaves much to be desired. But the fruit are certainly beautiful.

And I see a lot of potential for the incoming second flush. If I get any clusters this time, Iโll take a clone or two

Thank you again Bigworm, and everybody in this thread that has worked to spread information and spores. I appreciate you all!
Congratulations! What spawn to substrate ratio do you guys have found works best? or it's depended on the nutrients/ pheno ?

Yeah theyโre Def unique for natal. Super weird consistency too.

Only came out to like 180g fresh cuz theyโre so fluffy, if I pull too hard or from anywhere but the very bottom theyโll rip in half . They also have these little tooth root things that go through the myc to the surface which is new for me also.
Iโm getting ready to spawn the clone of the PE looking one right now.

here i'd actually grab tissue from around the center, to a new plate
the new plate probably straight to grains unless something

I personally don't break cakes up, but some folks do. You can also put a light layer of coir at the bottom of a container that they all fit snug in. Then cover with coir Works great

I went 1/4.5 spawn to coir. From everything I have read anything from 1/3 to 1/5 works. Pretty much just like cubes.

I used the P9 top layer five days ago, which came out to 1:6. It took two days for the myc to start bursting through the top layer. Iโm still nervous about the high ratio, but so far so good. If it colonizes the sub like it did the grain, I should be popping pins by next weekend.

Hope I have actual Natalensis and not some cube
