MOULDY STRAW/DUNG
    #2808793 - 06/19/04 03:05 PM (13 years, 10 days ago)

foaf mixed straw and dung together, and left it for 3 weeks. now, there is mould growing through part of it. Is it still good to pasteurize?

i would personally advise against it
why take the added risk?
esp if you can get more that is not moldy...

In most cases when you get dung from a field its already being colonized by an unwanted fungus. With proper pasteurization you kill all fungus and spores regardless. I dont know how it might affect the nutrients in the substrate though.
