Nice! That will blast you off for sure. Is this from an outdoor bed you are cultivating?
I'd hardly call this a "bed" or something that I'm cultivating, even.
So close to 5 years ago they cut down some big poplar trees in this area and chipped the remaining stumps. I've inoculated some of these stump remains with Azzy mycelium and since then provided 0 care to the patches. First fruits I've found were on the 3rd year, I believe.
This area is also interesting because they also planted new trees there and keep mowing the grasses every so often. If they didn't, I wouldn't even be able to get there to look at fruits. It's the right balance between human intervention and being left alone. Some other patches were not so lucky and without maintenance became 100% impenetrable.
Very cool that your climate conditions support these growing outside in such a hands-off way. Trip report!!!!!

Thanks,

Thats like 4 questions in one lol
Its a 16qt tub, 2qt spawn 1:4, I like running tested cultures in these. I have no need to grow large monotubs, at the moment.... Didnt really follow his tek at all just the same sized tub, but you could say it was inspired by Fahts peens.
I compress my sub flat because I dont like when my sub shrinks early and side pins (fuck liners).

My climate supports Serbica already so supporting other WLs is not too far fetched. And while Azzies may not be able to sustainably thrive and reproduce here, Ovoids certainly can, and I'm finally introducing them to nature here. Maybe in a few years there will be Ovoids growing all around the river. The habitat is damn near perfect so why not?
I also love the idea of increasing biodiversity while helping a new generation of "hippies" develop. In an area that was previously completely devoid of Psilocybin mushrooms.

But 4 quick one's...lol
Thanks, those were great answers. I have this bacon smasher cooker thing that is really flat so that's what I was thinking about using to make the surface compacted like yours...
Just one question about your ratio, why 1:4, that would be 2qt spawn and 8 qt substrate stuff...

I find 1:3 - 1:4 ratios work best for me. Anything less the first flush usually runs out of water. Havent seen a benefit to go higher then 1:4 personally

Germination is more fun in our species but good luck isolating any phenotypes, the last one who tried committed suicide.

Congratulations my good friend. If this is your first youβre in for a ride brother. Enjoy every moment of it cause they grow faster than these damn mushrooms and it makes me sad. Children will change your life. For the good in my case.

Congrats, MushieMafia!
Becoming a father to my Son and finding the mushroom are the two greatest events of my Life, having my Son being the biggest, obviously. But with the upbringing that I had, I don't know if I would've had the mind to become the father that I am today without the Mushroom Experience.
I wish you many bright days ahead!
Here's some recent shots of the Averys from earlier:

They are quickly becoming one of my favorites to grow.
