do you need to sterilize the verm and jiffy mix? and how would u go about doing so?

With the verm, no. With the jiffy mix, you can steam it for an hour or so, just as you would steam your jars.

Or you can microwave it for about 8 min, but do so in some sort of ceramic bowl. I once tried it in a tupperware container only to open up the microwave and find that the peat in the mix had started to burn. It melted the container and started a nice fire on my kitchen floor.

I feel cheated, where can I get the stuff that makes eggs look like brains?
