You mean the prostest by the workers of foxcom that didn't get their payment? The company now said it would have been a system error and they wil get their sallerys. Think there won't be any more news about that..
They can't do much anymore after the president got re-elected again. He changed actually the law that mao implemented (A president should only be in service for 4 yrs.). He actually did the same as putin did when he was elected president. He can now do what he wants and he stays president until he dies.
So everybody who will be against him, (higher positions already disappeared) will just be shut down.
Think China is a ticking timebomb now and they won't let go of Taiwan. That story is just beginning... Scary if you think about what consequences could come from that.

No, they had a another total COVID lockdown. Apparently it has been locked down for 100 days or something crazy like that. Then a fire broke out and a bunch of people died, fire fighters struggled to get to the scene because of the lockdown. Amid tensions over the lockdowns, the fire sort of pushed more buttons. There are now giant protests basically against the total lockdowns. It seems pretty wide spread and it seems the military is already involved in shutting it down.

I think its a nothingburger.....wish it was a full on steak sandwich but the Chinese government specializes on T Square tactics (estimated at 10,000 deaths) against the populace. Its almost like they have an inherent gift of quelling any dissention.
I will say those people in those videos have balls and labias of steel. Those workers know what happens to rabble rousers and those that fight against Big Bro China. There could be tanks rolling over workers with rat a tat tat machine guns blazing and next the day.....the status quo would be followed like nothing happened.

I think that when workers protest in America or France or South Korea it proves they have freedom and democracy.
I think that when workers protest in Cuba or Venezuela or China it proves they don’t have any freedom, and their governments should be overthrown.

Massive respect for those willing to protest in an authoritarian country. Hope it works out for them.
Leaving out NK, China sets the gold standard for internet censorship. I'm very interested in seeing how they deal with a blank white square being used as a protest symbol. Easy to fit a white square into anything.

I get the tongue and cheek.....but do you think people in China have the same amount of freedom as those in the US?

It is about the lockdown, but the protesters are saying they don't want a one party system, so it's growing, morphing, maybe metastasizing. Xi be worried.

I think it is big news. Whether or not it leads to any meaningful changes, probably not. Always glad for added pressure on Xi and party leaders.

I'm surprised no one brought up the recent elections in Taiwan (it's not getting much coverage in the West), where the ruling party, who said the elections were a referendum on the President's work with the West, got demolished.
The President of Taiwan then resigned as the party's leader.

I live in China. There was a time I’d have been more charitable (when China was ‘communist’ not actually communist) but the Maoists and statists seem to be back in control now, doing what communists do (they won’t even show crowds at the World Cup presently!).
But don’t let it distract you. What is happening in China was (and is still being) attempted in Canada, the US, Australia and Britain by our own traitorous Neomarxists/globalists.
One thing zero Covid in China taught me though, is that many of these commentators who are pro Russia/China (the new atlas, the Duran etc) are no more honest or accurate than the mainstream media, but simply the Russian or Chinese equivalents of the MSM, dismissing the protests in China as the work of US backed mobs! Brave people who put their necks on the line and basically they are denouncing them as foreign agents!
Personally, I now strongly suspect this ‘war’ is basically an ‘Oceania Vs Eurasia’ false dichotomy, the equivalent of democrats Vs republicans, scaled up geopolitically.

China isn’t run by Maoists. Xi is just a continuation of Dengism.
I appreciate the feedback though, and agree with your take about some grand ideological confrontation. Oceania and Eurasia are dependent on each other, a war makes no sense.

There’s an argument to be made whether state capitalism allows for better oversight, but yeah I agree for the most part.
