Yeah I don’t know man, you got a lot of thinking to do on that one. Shows a complete disregard for you in my opinion. Obviously I don’t know anything about you or your relationship but I’d say the best thing you can do is really just talk to her once the dust settles. Don’t make a rash decision, she could have misread the situation too. She should know exactly how you feel and what your things meant to you. Then move forward from there. Best of luck man.

I feel for your loss, RaRa. I think if your partner has that much disregard for you and your interests then that speaks a great deal about her as a person. Again, I do not know the details of your relationship. Just my two cents. Sending good vibes your way.

It's mostly stupidity. She doesn't understand that those were not common cactus.
She's sweet hearted but about as dumb as a 5 year old. Like I understand most women are kinda curved in the dumb state of mind but this one is different. She at least acts like she's sorry but at some point it's just a matter of liability. There's a reason you have to pass the driving test to get the privilege of a driving license! The problem is she doesn't even understand the molecule/chemistry behind anything, like last week she shoves her phone in my face to show a tabloid PDF of THC compared to CBD because she finally learned what got her high in cannabis. Obviously it's hard to explain why trichos and lophs are precious when it's like a 5 year old having to learn college level philosophy.
All my ranting done and aside, she wanted the space and she only sees plants. She doesn't know what they do or why they are suaght after. Simply was just another house plant to here. I can't explain that they are not just another plant because she is lacking the minimum amount of intellect to even begin that conversation.

On man, I am so sorry for your loss! I can't imagine... That might be more difficult than a breakup. It doesn't sound like she did it to try to hurt you or anything, but still that would sting. Cacti are like children, only you can occasionally eat them, and they're not annoying.
Question, deer are eating my corn plants and wild lettuce plants If I piss around my garden will it maybe keep them at bay until I can set up a fence or hoop house?

I know you're mad at her, but this is not true at all. Sounds like you just have an idiot for a girlfriend. If you're so smart then, have better standards for the women you choose to be with. If someone told me that it was me or the cactus, I'd interpret that as the relationship being over. For one, because it was even said in the first place, and two, no one worth being with makes you choose over something that brings you so much happiness. (Cause I love cactus myself).

I had a harsh post written, but I decided to edit down it and just speak from what I know.
People are saying we don't know the details of your relationship, and it's true, but just this little detail of her throwing out something so important to you, seems to me to communicate something that makes other details irrelevant.
You said that you had thrown out something from her hobby, so she thought it was fair to throw out something important to you? Doesn't that strike you as petty revenge? Would anyone who cares for another person do that?
I'd personally recommend that you strongly reconsider the relationship. But even if the relationship might have some hope, you should strongly strongly reconsider the living arrangement: you can't have a roommate that throws away your most important possessions casually.
But I'm not good at relationships. That's just me thinking of how important it is, how you communicated it was important, and how she disregarded that anyway.

I have never thrown away anything meaningful of her's other than time wasted. I was later told [in self defense?] that I had never made it clear how much I liked them nor their accessibility. Since I only have one person outside of this website that I can actually talk with about the awesomeness of.... well all of this, she never understood that passion. I'm sure I'm not the only one on here that loaths the fact they can't share a conversation with anybody who cares about this because the reality is basically nobody does. That's why we are all here right?
I don't know what my long term plans are with my significant other but I do know that I can't have the hobbies that interest me until there's a place for me to build a greenhouse.
As for your question giggle's, take it from a guy who punches his B tag in a back yard with a pistol, pissing on your property will only make neighbor dogs shit in your yard. You got to build a fence, tall too if your deer are not lazy and are willing to jump 6 feet up. Over arching 1/2 hoops I found work best if your garden hight is about a potato plant tall.

I took a trip down to Miami for a week. Just got back with a truck full of plants and an ice chest full of fresh mango.
Got some green malay coconut palms (Cocos nucifera), a Sri Kembangan carambola tree (Averrhoa carambola), and a big bromeliad (Aechmea 'Little Harv').

Never grown orchids before, but they were in bloom everywhere I went. Spent some time at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden and picked up a few orchids, Nepenthes, and Tillandsia. The orchids include some Dendrobium, Vanda, Cattleya, Potinara, and Catasetum. Even scored a few rhizomes of hanging lobster claw (Heliconia rostrata).

Hope everyone is getting along fine in the growing season.

I haven't but dendrobium nobile sounds very interesting. Ever sampled it?

Sampled? Haven't heard of any orchids being used medicinally. What part is ingested and what is it used for?

Yeah dendrobium nobile is psychoactive. Most people smoke the flowers but i think the entire plant might be active. It's also used in traditional Chinese medicine. Some think it may act on the cannabinoid receptors. I'm sure there are other psychoactive species too, not much is known about them.

Cheers, mostly. Haven't seen you in a while, hope your trichs are still too tall.
I found a random tray in the greenhouse full of all kind of stuff in need of a repot. There are pitanga/Surinam cherry (Eugenia uniflora), Pitangatuba/Starcherry (Eugenia selloi), lemon drop mangosteen (Garcinia brasiliensis), icecream bean (Inga edulis), curry tree (Murraya koenigii), Mempawah Hilir kratom (Mitragyna speciosa), and jurema (Mimosa tenuiflora). Got everything repotted, labeled, and back in the greenhouse!

After four years in the ground, my yopo (Anadenanthera peragrina) has finally set mature seed pods. The first picture is from May 2022 and second picture is a pod that I harvested today. There are still many more pods left maturing on the tree, hopefully will have more seed soon.

My Anadenanthera seed is sprouting after less than two days! Picked up some Diplopterys seed to grow out.
