I poured a tiny bit LC into a 2oz cup then torched a paperclip and swished it around then put onto agar and that worked great but this stuff is way thicker not sure a turbidity will work... Use a syringe to suck it up and squirt 1 drop on agar
By the way how long for full colonization with SSLC in a 1qt with a 40ml pour on average? 4 to 14 days. Depends on the culture, amount of LC, etc...
Thanks... Welcome
But the tiny drop into cup then paperclip could work Theoretically!?
I just hate buying extra stuff like a syringe...lol
And lastly but hopefully last, how does it in theory spead so much faster?
And you've done a tub with the colonized spawn bag via SSLC?

It's faster because it's a sticky thick liquid. So therfore you can use more & it coats the grain & stays in place rather than a normal LC which gravity would cause pooling at the bottom. So the thick jelly like substance allows the myc to jump off to the grain even faster.

I use a loop to pickup a drop of sslc and then apply it to the agar.

Nice Prints! How long did you leave them on the foil?
About 23 hours. I normally do 12 hours then transfer the caps to a new sheet of foil for a 2nd set of prints that would hypothetically be cleaner but I was out of shoeboxes which is what I use to print in. Also these genetics need to be stabilized before being passed around so I'm fine with just taking one set of prints.

My feeble attempt to let these upside-down side pins grow...

First flush was all on top, but I can't get any more pins there. Just looking for something nice to clone.

no such thing as myc pee friend, they don't have a bladder
those are metabolites, antibiotic compounds that the mycelia makes to fight other contaminations. That is the very indication that things are no bueno and there is more than the intended culture in there
