Hello everyone!
I am recruiting for a study that is being conducted by London South Bank University. The title is: A study investigating the perceived effects of microdosing psychedelics on wellbeing and gut health.
If you can spare 15-20 minutes, please complete this online survey (link found below). You don’t need to have taken these drugs to participate, although anyone who has would also contribute greatly!
This survey is completely confidential and anonymous so no details that could identify you will be recorded. As long as you are over 18 years of age and you are not currently taking psychiatric medications (other than antidepressants), you are not under the influence of recreational drugs whilst participating; and do not have brain damage/diagnosed with memory deficit conditions, you are most welcome to participate.
Our findings will contribute to informing research on the perceived effects of microdosing psychedelics within the UK and internationally and will form the basis of a journal article that may be published in a peer-reviewed journal. The study has been approved by the School of Applied Sciences Ethics Committee, no. ETH2122-0230.

I noticed you don’t have an option for LSA in your survey. I’ve been micro dosing a little bit recently with HBWR seeds (having about a tenth of a seed in the morning before breakfast).
I’m bummed I can’t finish the survey.. LSD micro dosing is similar, but I don’t think it has been as effective for me. It lasts longer and feels like it leaves me a bit burnt out after a few days, I’m guessing because I don’t get the best sleep while using it.

Consider good gut bacteria that you take in the form of a tablet prior to taking an antibiotic maybe.

I've probably got IBS...my stomach hurts pretty much daily. I take probiotics every day and I've also been microdosing and I haven't really noticed any decline or improvement in my stomach issues.

im curious as to why the survey includes gut health? Im guessing because the compounds found in the fruits can cause stomach irritation.
However, in reply to your gut health on the daily i had similar problems about a year ago. I suggest getting a colonoscopy and endoscopy to rule out any major problems. BUT they will not tell you how to live healthier to prevent such problems. I have heard of some some gourmet varieties helping with digestion but i highly suggest you change your daily diet and add more fiber. I drink a smoothie every day from fresh and frozen fruit and it helps me tremendously. good luck and hope to do this survey myself soon!

Serotonin and serotonergic compounds such as psilocybin and psilocin all have direct physiological effects on the gut that are independent of microbiome alone.

I never considered the stomach to be affected but ive aslo heard that its our second brain with the nervous system being quite complex down there. So makes sense and very interesting! ill have to do some research on this topic.

I'm a survivor of esophageal cancer, you need to get an endoscopy and take the guess work out of it. Then you can figure out whats going on and treat it.

Your gut health is so important. Most people have excess fat which cause cancer, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and more. The stuff that gets put in your gut can inflame those markers. Studies like this can only help.

You should try an IgG or colostrum supplement.

The cell walls of Fungi are composed of Chitin, not cellulose like plants which may make them more difficult to digest. Consider this, Chitin is what insect exoskeletons are made of including lobster shells etc. That in combination with the Psilocin etc can hit that gut!
