Sure looks like it to me. I see some blue bruising on the stems.

Not too sure about this. Panaeolus yes, though.
OP, where in the world were these found?

I think this is not Panaeolus cinctulus sensu stricto but Panaeolus cinctulus group. Psychoactive regardless.

I was asking more of a general location (country/state).
To me these look more like one of the subtropical species like P. cyanescens, which are usually dependent on quite warm temperatures compared to P. cinctulus. Also the bluing on some of these are a bit strong to be the latter, imo.

Not gonna lie, i totally forgot the P. cyanescens group existed for a second
Regardless they do still kind of strike me more as P. cinctulus group, but I guess I just don't see the major bruising you guys are talking bout
Actually, looking at these stone-cold sober, I think you guys are right

They look to me as P. cyanescens or maybe even P. bisporous. Still curious as to what state/country you found these in your garden?
Also, why not ask the person who gifted you the spent spawn/substrate?
Please let us know what he said when you do ask him/her.

Also, I would add that the speckled ornamentation of the stem is indicative of Panaeolus cf. cyanescens.

I see panaeolus cyanecense, though they aren't typical of what you would find in a cow pasture. I would really be curious what the genetics say.
