That’s lookin real nice. Do you post these in the daily cultivation pic thread? They’d love it over there.
Shoot me a link, I'll check it out. I only watch this thread, agar thread and quick answers, oh and the ziplock bag one, that I'm failing at right now.

Any of you guys remember me talking about a very shitty SAB session ending up with like a 50% contam rate not too long ago?
Welp I think figured out what happened. It wasn't from the patio door being open (well at least not only that).
So in an effort to reduce my contam rate near zero, that session I decided to heavy spray my cling wrap 1" roll with ISO. I used so much that when I wrapped the plates, it was dripping everywhere, with ISO stuck between the cling and the plate all around. Because all of the contam was bacterial and not mold, and also on the very edges on every dish, I'm pretty confident tiny ISO droplets managed to get on the agar dragging bacteria with it.
So, pushing it too far doesn't always = better
Edit: fml now I gotta get back in there -> (Rotn you were right lmao I'm in there way too often)

I do remember that, and it makes a lot of sense. I have a hunch, and maybe someone here can confirm or deny, that moisture in between the lid and base of your plates can draw in contamination, especially bacteria. I stored some plates upside down the other day, and a bunch of them went bacterial. All plates with moisture that crept into that gap.
Speculation, but your report makes me think there’s some validity to it. You know how fluid behaves. If your fingertips are getting wet, I feel like there’s a chance the water you came in contact with is pulling finger debris into the plate.

I’m thinking since it was soaked with iso after it evaporated it left small air pockets for contam air to travel through. Maybe just maybe. Lol

That is also plausible. Who knows. Obviously I won't doing next time in SAB (soon) and will report contam rate 7-10 after.

Are these parameters okay? [Re: Inocuole]

Is it alright to ask a few questions here? Brand new to growing, haven't started my first batch yet but am gathering supplies.
So, I have a 54quart monotub with 6 evenly placed holes about halfway up the height of the tub. Is that hole placement okay for fae? On top of that, 6 half-pint BRF jars and 10lbs of CVG substrate. 2 syringes of spores, 10cc each.
Would it be possible to do bulk substrate in the monotub with these conditions? If not, I'll just use the cakes and then do the perlite layer thing in the tub.
Thank you to anyone that replies. Even after reading through the forums and other sources for weeks now, trying to get my ducks in a row has been difficult.

6, 1/2 pint BRF jars is not nearly enough to a 54qt monotub. You'd probably need like 30+. You're better off doing the cakes in a shoebox or a humidity chamber. Don't waste your time or resources on a SGFC

Also, please do not change the subject line of threads when you reply to them. It's annoying and makes shit confusing AF on here. Otherwise, welcome to the forum!

Thank you, figured the tub was way too large. That was the main issue I've had so far, the info is appreciated.

Sorry about that \: Couldn't tell where the subject had gone and thought maybe there was a window for the question. My apologies, the help really is appreciated.

It's all good homie, I didn't mean to come off as rude if I did. I also didn't give you a very helpful answer I don't think:

Fuck yeah it is
Brand new to growing, haven't started my first batch yet but am gathering supplies.
So, I have a 54quart monotub with 6 evenly placed holes about halfway up the height of the tub. Is that hole placement okay for fae?
That's not a 'standard' setup and you will likely wind up with too much FAE. Use some Micropore tape to block/open the holes as needed to dial in surface condition. Otherwise follow the tried and true Pasty EZ dial TEK
On top of that, 6 half-pint BRF jars and 10lbs of CVG substrate. 2 syringes of spores, 10cc each.
This is a very good start! 6, 1/2 pints will not be nearly enough for a full 54qt monotub. Look into shoeboxes or humidity chambers. I would probably get a 6qt shoebox and simply bury all 6 of your colonized cakes in coir and let them do their thang
Would it be possible to do bulk substrate in the monotub with these conditions? If not, I'll just use the cakes and then do the perlite layer thing in the tub.
You can certainly do bulk with what you have, you just need more jars and a lot more cakes
Thank you to anyone that replies.
You're welcome
Even after reading through the forums and other sources for weeks now, trying to get my ducks in a row has been difficult.
Collecting materials can be a time consuming endeavor for sure since you don't have a good shopping list. Your first attempt or two will probably be just as frustrating because you're trying to learn everything as you go and you don't know what to look for, etc. Just relax. There is a learning curve to this hobby but it isn't nearly as steep as you expect it to be. You're in the right place! Read all the material you see that seems relevant to the situation you're in and ask questions as you need to, before you do something (like you're doing now). Best of luck!
