Do you ever think about what your last thoughts would be?

I was thinking about it like if you knew you were going to die what would be last things that went through your head? I imagine most people would think of friends and family and stuff they care about. I would imagine a peace symbol like this they say RIP like rest in peace. Maybe I would find peace somewhere else.

I know exactly what my last thoughts would be. There has been a couple times i overdosed. There has been even more i was so high i was convinced i was going to die. There have been other times too but either they happened so fast i was immediately unconscious or too young to remember.
The first thing that floods my mind is always the people closest to me though. Its never happy. Usually flashes of good memories with people followed up by vivid images of how my death would impact them mentally and how it would effect their lives. Thoughts about what i would have left behind for them. Not monetarily or property, but the memories, the things they took about philosophy and life from being close with me, and the parts of me that left a permanent imprint on their personalities and would stick with them through life and serve as a memorial to who i was.
What i struggle with is knowing death eventually comes for all of us. Knowing the pain and grief that it causes for loved ones when it inevitably happens. I don't feel i could ever truly reconcile that. Even dieing after a full life. The best anyone can do is spend the short time they have on earth creating good memories with the people they know and having a positive and lasting impact on their minds and souls where you can.
Theres a song that sums it up well. Its not what you take when you leave this world behind you. Its what you leave behind you when you go.

I think more about the feelings. I suspect that I know the sensation and when people describe it, it sounds so oddly familiar. It's like you're acutely aware of the fact that something is extremely wrong, but it feels distant and you feel either calm or nothing, at all.
I've experienced that while meditating and experiencing death. I also felt it clearly when I had food poisoning. I had an extremely high fever. I was hallucinating and felt profoundly weak. I consciously knew that fevers from bacterial infections (food poisoning) can get high enough to kill you. My logical brain was saying "You're in danger. You're gonna die", but I felt calm, almost peaceful. I just laid there and accepted that I was definitely going to die.
I expect that that's what death is like.

I don’t know I’m not sure what to believe I have zero clue as to what actually happens when you die. I hope it’s just over like you don’t have thoughts no more and forever in black thoughtless darkness. I have so much regret in my life I don’t like thinking about the past at all I wish I could forget everything I wish 99% of my life did not happen or was not remembered. Sadly I remember things that upset me most and very vividly compared to things I don’t feel guilty or sad about.

I had a very similar experience once when I thought I was going to die from being poisoned with some kind of Mickey that was dumped in my drink at a tittie bar in Chattanooga back in the 90s, I knew something wasn't right so I got up and left the bar and somehow managed to make it home and in my bed, I was totally unable to move other than roll my head back and forth while I puked for about 8 hours, was pretty sick feeling for a couple days afterwards and had a headache that lasted about a month. I really thought I was going to die for those first 8 hours and I kept seeing flashes of people who loved me crying because I was dead and that somehow kept motivating me not to die, I have no idea what it was I was dosed with but it sure made me feel like I was going to die.

I’ll probably be thinking about all the time I wasted on dumb shit and how I wished I could do it differently. Also, I’ll be a little relieved and glad for it to be over. In the final moments, I doubt you’ll be thinking of others. You’ll be staring down the inevitable terror of your own extinction and trembling in fear.

I've overdosed 4 different times. All of them i was worried about hurting other people, right up until the point i lost consciousness. Its not the only thing, there is fear and alot of other emotions that surface when you realize your body is shutting down but the thought about how its going to effect the people im close to has always been the main component. All 4 times i was hospitalized, had i been alone i would have died.

Demonstrative of a narcissistic personality.
Let me tell you right now you can start to do it differently by considering two things:
1.Other people
2.How to live in service of those other people.
Doing things now to prevent those thoughts from being inevitable seems like a wise choice.
I'm quite certain my last thoughts will be of thankfulness of the ability to live in service of others and learn the good lessons of life.
If I have my choice tho I probably would like my last thoughts to be something along the lines of..
"This is the best pussy I've ever had!!"

I've wondered about this a lot.
However, based on various medical issues I've had, and the ways that most of my friends and family have passed away, I assume that my chances of not being fully conscious or lucid are actually quite high.
In all likelihood, I'll have no idea that they're my last thoughts as I'm thinking them. So it'll probably end up being something like "Oh shit, not again" or "Today's trash day."

I want my grave stone to say, "Eat my shit and die!" Maybe I could write it in some kind of cryptic code to troll historians later on. It'd be nice to know the day I'm going to die. I might take out a loan on a nice vehicle and crash it into something. Kind of like die hard with a vengeance. Maybe even pack it with some tnt or something like that. But, I'm a vengeful bastard

Maybe you can get reincarnated into a republican NRA loving family with no liberal induced mental illness. Guns and drugs cool Hunter S Thompson understands maybe 50-100 years from now the mental illness about guns being dangerous and going off randomly will go away simple really.
