hi
my first ever brf jars are fruiting now in their sgfc, i am pleased with the resuls so far but i'm a bit curious about the one with the broken cap. its about the third one to do that. is there something i can be doing better? temperature is constant, 75 deg, 12/12 light. 2-3 mists a day. also there are a couple of fails on one of the cakes, should i remove them now? and, as can be seen in the pics, a few of the fruits are outpacing their bro's, should i pick them ahead of the others or wait until they are all ready?
thanks for any help

youre misting 2-3 times a day and its still dry in there? that tub is too big for so few cakes. SGFCs work when they are full wall to wall. honestly imo youd be better off picking, soaking, and sticking those cakes in sandwich baggies

the βfahtlockβ method of fruiting these is basically a mini SGFC using a ziplock & small tupperware.
you can also bottom water the cakes if they feel light, mushrooms need a fair bit of water to form proper fruits

thanks for your input mate, i didn't mean to have such a large sgfc but i busted the first box drilling it out. so the broken caps are cos its not humid enough?! if i do as you suggest, how long to soak please?

yeah it just looks a bit dry over all in there, maybe someone else will have a different opinion. to bottom water, just put some water underneath the cakes & dump out anything that isnβt soaked up after a few hours
