Just thought I'd share my technique on sterilising grain bags
Load unicorn 3T bags with 4quarts of grain and gusset fold(you can find how to gusset fold in natedawgs always be bagging thread)wrap over and put two elastic bands on,I use the elastic bands because the bags stand in the pressure cooker rather than lie down, this stops the fold from opening when loading, also rember to fold a corner as shown in the pic, this will stop any water being sucked into the bags while they are cooling down and pulling a vacuum.(I'm using popcorn in this example,I don't usually use popcorn but I ran out of rye grain and my Petri dishes were about to hit the walls so I got some popcorn from my local shop)

Now I use this spacer and a tray at the bottom of the pc ,it makes around a 3.5 inch lift off the bottom of the pc,I don't like my bags to sit in water whilst they are pressuring cooking as I'm quite anal when it comes this,I dont know why but I just don't like them sitting in water.I also use 4.5 litres of water in here as I run my bags for 4 hours.this is plenty of water for the cycle I usually have around 1.5-2 litres left in the pc after a cycle.

Now load your grain bags like so with the folder corner side at the bottom of the pc

Make sure to cover you grain bags with a plate or canning tray this will stop them inflating and blocking any valves, put on the stove, vent for 15 minutes and sterilize at 15psi for 4hours,I know 4hours is overkill but I've done this at 3hours and it's worked fine I do 4 hours so I know if anything messes it up it was my sterile technique infront of the flow hood and not my sterilising cycle, there will be plenty of water left in the pc as long as you know how to run it properly and maintain 15psi through out the cycle.fill it with 4.5 litres water, the water should not flow over the tray the bags are standing on,it will stay under if you use a proper spacer. I've done 100s of bags like this and they never burst and always pull a good solid vacuum when cooled down, make sure to let the pc cool overnight,I run two pcs like this and get 12 bags done a day.
If anyone even reads this I'll upload how I inoculate these bags with me Petris dishes and how I tie them,I use zip ties.
Thanks for reading and hope this helps people.

Thanks, I’ve been hesitant to run bags in the presto since I warped one, was running it outside on a cool day and I think what happened was a bag popped from the temp change🤷🏻When I shut the heat off at the end, which wicked up water from the bottom and who knows what. But I ran a lot of bags in the presto before that. I’ll have to give it another go, I like how you pack those 4 hours is not overkill for bags, I think it’s just right.

Yeah I have done them at 3 hours and they've been fine but I prefer 4hours,give it a try,no bags pop this way and they hold there shape nicely.
