Greetings, I'm a 28 year old male who has anhedonia for maybe the last decade, for sure the last 7 years. I haven't really felt joy, interest or any positive emotion in years (a couple medications worked briefly, but did not last). I've been to a handful of different psychiatrists over the years, but not mush has helped. I am wondering if anyone else here has any similar stories and whether or not psilocybin mushrooms helped with your mental health. Thank you.

No substance will be a long-term magic bullet.
Mushrooms affect everyone differently, but they certainly have the power to bring even the most depressed or emotionally muted person to tears or hysterical joy-filled laughter. Unfortunately they also have the power to fill you with crippling existential dread and nihilism.
There's no predicting how long the effects of a trip will last once the substance wears off, but many people have improved their quality of life by positively integrating epiphanies and realizations that they experienced while tripping.

Mental health is something else.
See the mushrooms cause the energy of brsin to collapse to the center of the brain. That gives the brain a chance to reimprint where brains energy to go when the drug wears off and energy transitions. Reimprinting to better reality. Yet, the catch is when keeping same variables around ones self the brain will just go back to that of how was. PsychoGeographical a phrase to use. As ones own set and setting and that character, that "there egos again" being of self, will return to that genius.
These aren't smart drugs that will inhance ones own intelligence and have one busy cleaning and making better of the life sround themselves. Ones intelligence is just that, ones intelligence. That never changes. The mind games played subconsciously with those who not see to use presence in speech and communication can give what their own being sees as well in ideas and clues for one self to apply in own place and time.
All in all, mental health... Happy Belly, happy mind. Blood; fresh, oxygenated blood heals all of body. Nothing less, nothing more.
Change up your diet. Find what is truely nourishing and of great benefit to health and stay there.
When I changed to freshly baked bread loafs from local bakeries, eating two a day, yes, whole lot of carbs, but I am no scientist who gone to discover what carbs are so that applying such knowledge to own being instead of physically feeling what is happening... Anyway, I tall fella and was eating two loafs of fresh baked bread a day and found getting happier then ever. Was all that eating was everything needed to give me head enough blood production to oil them bearings.
So much food is much part poison to the body. And even more so, it's amazing of the way one can eat the greatest of lake there true norishing food and still compose a body growth as they do carry along. As though the brain has hypnotic hold of body to idea of that food eaten is of such energy and I'll hold and carry that energy along in this composition.
Practice yoga. Get to gym. Eat well. Drink plenty of water. Local spring waters sold in carboys better for mental health than the city's water. Easily said, such is not adulterated.
Remember life before our life was heavily adulterated by ways of education? Well being. Education is a forceful state pushing one in need find comfort zone.
Hope something here gives some insightful mental rail to ride for moment. Bringing distration from that what seems to be of annoyance to own self, yet, funny thing is, that of which is annoyance is something that is held onto for sake of having such present.
In those times, my diet is off and need eat well.
