So we recently started are first grow in a monotub from North spore everything seems to be good just looking little dry and pins are popping up I was just wondering how to water while there are pins on the cake / growing what will happen if the water hits then / the fruits is that bad ?

Mist more frequently, inject water into the substrate, or pour a little water down the side of the tub.
Personally, I dont think you have enough colonization to be worried about water content and the sides arent even pulling away from the tub yet.
Id mist if you're worried but wait out the colonization to see how surface conditions set up when your tub is colonized fully.

there are pins, tho, which means itโs done colonizing. either there are contams or the top was really dry. mist the sub directly, you want it to be as moist as possible without pooling. ideally you have tiny beads of water across the surface, but since yours doesnโt have much myc on it it may not hold beaded water like a normal tub might

So should I harvest all the pins and fruits before I mist the top of my cake what about the very small pins do I need to worry about them

you can mist your substrate & fruits directly! donโt worry about harvesting them first

Im leaning towards the contamination theory myself but decided to stay on point and just answer the question asked about how to water. With so much surface not colonized I'd think the tub was closer to 80%. In my grows, I dont see proper surface conditions until the surface has more mycelium growth to actually support beads which makes it tough to tell if one should mist or be patient.

The cake itself looks Litt dry but the tub has nice humidity and sprayed the tops and walls some

Also I heard if you spray the fruiting for watering it can cause aborts

when my subs are fruiting and look dry i just pour water on them. they will finish fruiting with water sitting on them and i get no aborts, and no one has yelled at me yet so thats what i recommend
