How insane is that. That’s immoral on a level far beyond ignorance.
Current penalties in Texas (only for possession, when prosecuted at state level, does not account for any federal charges or for associated charges like intent to distribute, which are frequently tacked on to possession over a certain amount depending on jurisdiction, and of course having any firearms in possession at the same time amps all of these up, even if firearm is legally owned):
Possession of less than a gram
A fine of up to $10,000; Up to 2 years in a state jail
one to four grams, second-degree felony
A fine of up to $10,000; and Up to 20 years in prison
four to 400 grams, first-degree felony
A fine of up to $10,000; and Between 5 and 99 years in prison
more than 400 grams, life felony, which is life in prison without parole and a fine of up to $100,000.
EDIT - law enforcement does not distinguish between wet or dry weight, nor distinguish fruit from mycelial mass. In the wrong county, an aggressive prosecutor can put you away for life for a single shoebox.
Stay safe y’all

Around me the county jails are packed so full they don't incarcerate you for drugs unless it's opiates, crack, coke, and meth. Even then these no bail states just let you walk right out the otherside without even needing bail. Then they just give you fines, probation, house arrest and NA.

That is an example of human evil codified into law. There’s no justification for that existing or being enforced.

Here Ayahuasca and San Pedro are legal for ceremonial use... San Pedro grows in everyone's yards (and I NEVER see a San Pedro plant that hasn't had an arm taken off, even in nice posh homes' private gardens). I can buy coca leaves at the market (and I used to)....
But shrooms are illegal

Final flush before The Green Reaper finally decimated the substrate completely. This grow has been amazing. The total dry weight came in at 5.2g from cca 500ml of substrate. Which is mindblowing. That's probably more than all of my previous indoor and outdoor attempts COMBINED.
Also note, the bulk sub had grey mold at spawning, which the Bisporus had to fight off. And there's been a mild gnat infestation almost constantly, which I'm sure helped The Green Reaper finally take hold. In any case, they resisted incredibly well. When I dumped the cake today, I've noticed the bottom 2/3, if not 3/4 of the sub were absolutely infested with green! And the fruits were still growing and maturing when I harvested them in the morning. Unbelievably tough fungus!

Here’s our little patch. It’s just ignored now since we’re too old to partake in it anymore.
