My home wasn't intended for others to post graffiti on.

If I build a wall that was 100 miles long for people to paint graffiti on, I wouldn't be offended if they did.  If hi tech sets up a site for people to chat on, I'd let them chat.

But you're missing the point of this thread.  This is about the Government being involved in censorship.

Your whole argument started with an article that clearly stated the government merely suggested that some speech might be disinformation, and twitter and facebook voluntarily removed it based on that information.

So to use your wall analogy, the government said "maybe that's not a good idea, your graffiti wall" and you said "yeah, you're right" and GOVERNMENT CENSORSHIP JUST HAPPENED!

Most of the news consistently ignores this type of story.  Or is this a conspiracy theory?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention allowed the nation’s second-largest teachers union to help write COVID-19 guidelines that led to extended school closures during the pandemic.

Fortunately the administration that was doing this was replaced. Nobody should have an allusions that the trump administration cares about the first amendment.

They could have taken it to court. Plenty of people sue the government.

Everything can be questioned. Meaning that if we accept today's argument, yesterday's argument becomes incoherent. I wonder what will happen tomorrow?

I own a house, like to have graffiti on it, and asked the local neighborhood association to help me decide which graffiti is appropriate for the community. It's my home, my community, yes I think I will continue to decide what I continue to do with it.

You only get to do with it what fal thinks is appropriate for him whenever it is convenient.

I wouldn't mind if intentionally fake news was censored.  But the news in question getting censored is truthful.

It's a high bar.  If I say we should suppress stories about the Hunter Biden laptop being real, then I am CLEARLY censoring news that is not intentionally fake.  If there's any question, you don't censor it.

Are you the courts? Because, according to you, that's how we determine intentionally fake news vs truth.

Allow me to requote you explaining your position:
Quote:

Falcon91Wolvrn03 said:
How do you determine if something is "intentionally fake"?  The same way you determine if someone committed any other crime - through the court system.  Is the court system 100% perfect?  No.

Maybe you will now understand my criticism of your position:
Quote:

shivas.wisdom said:
Well... that's your imperative, but empowering the state as arbiter of truth while simultaneously empowering the state to criminalize those who differ is a recipe for state repression and censorship.

Why do you consider this form of censorship a negative when practiced by the US state, but a positive when practiced by the Russian state?
