Large for a mushroom, or at least large compared to the rest of the box. Early performer. Thick, solid stipe. Good to high potency.

I agree... but I mostly focus on clusters now... the best looking fruit in a cluster..

I've been burned way too many times when cloning large single fruits.

Yea thank you that’s what I meant. Error of omission there. Largest fruit in a cluster.

It was a little difficult to do with my last shoebox because they all grew on top of each other. Pretty sure the clone I selected was a stand-alone fruit, but time will tell. My APE clone was a single fruit and it made canopies so we’ll see.

Yeah.. it's really a roll of the dice sometimes. There is really no way to know what you'll get until you've tested it... but I've had better luck with clusters than single fruits.

Every time I do a single fruit, I end up with a ton of single fruits, and maybe 1 or 2 very small clusters..

Who knows  I may just have shit for luck..

I definitely feel like clusters are the way to go. I got lucky with my APE. Kinda. Pheno didn’t carry over, but it’s still a good culture.

These Avery’s are all so small. Thiiiiiick canopy from multispore which is cool, but maybe a dozen sizeable fruits in the whole tub lmao.

Who knows man. It’s like playing Pokémon go but you catch one Pokémon every 4-6 weeks.

I'm in a similar sitch.  Like P9 recently said, I'm not growing at large scale and the IP works (for now). Pretty soon I'll be having to make a decision on either upgrading to a PC or building a FH.  Both would cost about the same where I am.  I'm thinking FH because working in a SAB is a pain.  Which are you planning on upgrading first?  Also open to suggestions and reasoning from everyone here.

I mean..... I have done plenty of SAB session. Like a shit ton and only 1 had a high contam rate.

I appreciate the offer. I'd love to detail my process but if I don't know what caused it (again I'm leaning towards the patio door being left open and taking transfers from dirty germ plates) I am not sure it'll help.

That said, I did another session yesterday evening. If I get another high contam rate,I'll definitely go through it step by step.
That's say

I'm going to do a pressure cooker because it will be cheaper, save me more time, give me the ability to sterilize larger bags if needed (for gourmets), and cause other people told me to.  And I tend to listen to people that know more than I do.  Flow hood will be a few months out unless something falls in my lap.

I'd say the PC first is a good choice :super:

I'm sure many others would agree that a LFH/FFU is more of a luxury item compared to a decent PC in this hobby..

I could continue to grow the quantity that I do without my FFU, but I'd be shit outta luck without my Presto.. If something happens to my PC, I'll go out and replace it immediately.. the FFU, I'd probably use a SAB to keep my projects going while I take a moment to consider my options..

Don't get caught up with all the fancy toys while you're getting started.. focus on the fundamental equipment before getting any fancy toys, especially if financially you have to choose between the two

Trashed most of my grows and cultures like 4-6 weeks ago, can't remember now. Saved some monos and some cultures, they went to a couple different friends houses.

Basically had a potential problem I didn't want to risk. Ended up being fine which I knew was 95% going to be the case.

Sent me into a bit of a hole. Been kinda depressed and haven't been on the forum much. The wiki hosting got suspended because I didn't pay the bill.

Doing a little agar work today for the first time since I trashed everything, hoping to feel back to normal soon. Going to Spain on Monday so hopefully that boosts my mood and I can resume cult properly again once I am home.

Your trip will definitly help you relax a bit and get out of your daily routin. A change of scenery often helps me in such situations. You will feel better again, doing some agar work and talking a bit with some friendly shroomers here will also help you get your mind of things ;-)

We are here for you <3

It's not much but because I let it get to that point I have to get in contact with them, I have several mental health disorders and I find it hard to do basic things; often when I know I need to do something my brain just shuts off from it. I don't plan to stay like this, I've had far worse times and many times.

Yep, you're who I took my recommendation from, lol.  I think I'll ask my girlfriend for a Presto for Christmas so she can be part of my craziness.  She just doesn't understand why I do the things I do but never tells me to stop.  She might react to the lab I'm about to setup in the basement though.  I'll have to show you guys.  The DMT fairy is coming soon!:hamsterdance:
