Hi everyone, So years ago when I got into the mushroom growing, I had a friend who was on this path before me and who was giving me growing tips. She said that when she first got into it, she went through the effort of getting a Native American ID card as her membership as a tribeswoman would leave her in a legal loophole so to speak with regards to growing mushrooms. I'm not in contact with her anymore and I can't find online anything that would point me to it. Do you know what I'm talking about? Do you know which tribe this is that is allowed to use magic mushrooms as part of the ceremonial tradition and would allow non-Native Americans to join? Thank you in advance.

I'm not fully fluent in the subject but can speak to the NAC's legal religious exemption to the Lophophara willimsii cactus (Peyote). I do believe I heard about a possible exemption in New Mexico for psilocybin. But could be wrong. My advice is if ypu actaully want to become part of NAC and take place within its community, you could look into it... But if your soul purpose is to grow some shrooms and just not be scared for catching a major manufacturing charge, research differnt localities and states that have decriminized or deprioritized natural psychadelic related charges. Theres quite a few places now where your probably safe as long as you arnt trying to go el chapo.. I'm not sure were ever going to see legal lsd and rc's and im probably ok with that i'm intelligent enough to find it if I really want it, but we're probably on our way to alot of jurisdictions decriminalizing nature based drugs.

In theory this could work, but in the real world I don't think a NAC card would get you out of any trouble - if it does, it'll be after you spend $50k in legal fees to argue it.
I am not aware of any cases where psilocybin possession or manufacture was dropped due to someone being a member of the NAC.

are you aware of any cases where that defense was tried and failed?
