LC and injection ports

Hi All,
Recently started dabbling with LC and was curious about the injection port part of the process. I'll give some background as to what I am doing as well. The injection ports are just made of high temp RTV silicone.
I used a fully colonized T3 plate and inside of a SAB used a freshly opened syringe and sucked up some PCed LC from a jar after wiping/removing iso soaked paper towel from the port. Then flamed the needle, cooled with a squirt, poked into my T3 plate, wiped/removed the iso soaked paper towel from the injection port and squirt the tiny sample into the jar.
During the whole process I couldn't help but wonder just how safe it is to simply sanitize the injection port with ISO. Some quick googling indicated that bleach is effective at destroying mold spores while ISO is not. Would I be better off using bleach on the port?
Also, do you think I can get away with open air inoculation once I have a clean LC? I hope so, because that was kind of the point of this exercise to make my life easier
Thanks all

At a glance:
If you aren't waiting to see how the plates grow out with your LC solution at the same time as using them as an innoculant then you haven't given yourself enough time to determine if your LC is healthy.
Personally if I am using a product that is marketed as sterile I will give it the benefit of the doubt but it would not make a difference if I had not already learned if my LC was clean when tested it on agar.

Not sure what you are alluding to. So far I only just started messing with LC and just nocc'ed up my first jars. Haven't had the chance to test any on agar just yet, but that is part of the plan. Wanting to enhance my chances for success and streamline my process I was sharing my thoughts about sanitizing with bleach over ISO and open air inoculation through injection ports vs inside a SAB. Unless you took a logical leap that's going over my head

What you described is how I'm going to do it. Have a clean t1 that I'm going to put to LC with every transfer just to get my techniques down. And so I can have lots and lots of shroom goo later.

it seems insane to go to such lengths to get everything sterile and then just expose it all at the last second

Sorry, let me be a little more clear:
If you are unable to test the health of the LC on agar you will end up rolling the dice on your inoculations. You won't know if it is clean or not so you are just playing the waiting game. It doesn't matter how clean things are or how well prepped your grains are if the LC is dirty.
