We do seem to be getting worse on that, when the appropriate topic has it's own thread. People get enthusiastic to respond, and you two Mods don't have time to direct all the traffic.
Once the wrong thread comments gain momentum, it's hard to resist joining in.

It is, and it's also hard to determine when a tangent reaches the point of overwhelming the thread. No one wants the forum to be hardline on this shit, and most of us have been here long enough to navigate topic drift without a problem.

One of the sad things about all this is even with the video and the confession there are still people that refuse to acknowledge reality. In the comments of that YouTube video I linked to of him calling into the news station probably half are people saying it's fake or he's being set up. Even worse are the people that do acknowledge it and are actually praising him for it.

Just read some these insane comments

That is a computer generated A.I. voice track and you can clearly hear it with the weird voice drop offs, they way the sentences is are ended etc.. LMAO Not even conspiracy theorist bs, you can plainly hear it lol. I get spam calls daily where they use the same exact A.I. generated chat to leave messages. At first when you listen to any of them they sound real, then you hear the oddities to realize they are computer generated. I know, I own a tech company that deals with this for a living and have used this to troll folks over the years. This is funny that they are trying to pass this off while being trolled, but not funny since it muddies the Jury pool and skews public judgment of the case.

I've seen the video, his voice when the door opens & says no, even from a simple word or 2, it does not sound the same here, plus the way this message is said & sounds it wouldn't surprise me if this was a bot... as bots are getting to sound more & more real, the perfect pauses in between as if it were a president reading a scripted speech, the clicks, "now that you have all seen the body cam footage i have an import... (click click) important message", the background noise changing on & off starting at "it's my own fault", & the "glo-ba-bo-bal facists" LMFAO, weather this is some staged incident or not, what are you people at fox really trying to pull here, fox news is controlled by dem's so this has got to be all for some kind way to keep the control of the American people aka the sheep going in a straight line.

On nominally-conservative, too-big-to-fail, state TV, DePape is an illegal alien, nudist, drug abusing, pedo, who believes in the literal existence of fairies and lives in a school bus in San Fransisco.
If you were taught something equal but opposite to say, by too-big-to-fail state TV, it is my belief that we are being put up to non-productive bickering. You are not directly responsible for that. No matter whether I like you as a person, or vice versa, we can still be pragmatic about it.
On the conspiracy theory angle of things, which you usually won't like...

The speaker of the house is protected by the capitol police, not her home or husband.

When in their 80's my grandma kept bicycling around town until she got ran over, and still lasted a long time, afterwards. My grandfather could split large, wood rounds with a double bladed axe. My parents are disagreeable assholes, who refuse to die, and I will be, too.

Sometimes, when I see very rich families, of the variety slandered in the conspiracy section, their founders look rather cantankerous, but the children look effete. I think, there is a kind of rich person, who just wanted more -- maybe, criminally. But, not a dandy.
If, God forbid, someone pulls a hammer on me, I am going to look like a wild animal, and you're not going to know who is the criminal under primary aggressor laws.

Apparently, you were just pretending to be stupid, on a part time basis. It looks like you have a conscious grasp of the conversation.
Was she just being protected on a part time basis? idk. I would have assumed, full time.
Either, a breach was purposefully allowed by the authorities, who are supposed to be guarding her family and house.
Or, Depape has exposed an opening, a mile wide.

Who is ultimately responsible for that?

I believe she is protected full time. She has a detail assigned to her. Not sure why you make the assumption that her house or husband are guarded tho.
People think the world works like it does on TV, where rich people have bodyguards and constant security. That’s almost entirely Hollywood fiction.

Works for me. At least, someone knows right from wrong.
In the nearer term, it was a security failure, to be able to find these vaunted officials at their private home.

Maybe, just for plutocrats, and not their front persons.
When I'm not hunting for a food animal or defending against someone threatening me with a hammer, I'm a fairly nice person.
If someone was a copycat criminal, DePape has exposed an opening in security, fwiw.

How is that a security failure? If you own a home, your address is matter of public record.

It would be scary AF if you let Craigslist sales to go down at your residence. I would rather ask for spare change from the people of Walmart on a Saturady night.

I've had tons of people from Craigslist and Facebook marketplace come to my house to buy stuff , never once been afraid . It's meeting people in random places that will get you in trouble . If you try some shit in my driveway I'll just shoot you, or my neibor might shoot you , my wife will shoot you f for sure and my kids will set your ass on fire .
