This one doesn't have the goo or raised portions, it's just slightly off colored. It looks really healthy other than that.

I would think it's bacteria but it's so weird how it's spreading with the very healthy looking myc and it's not necessarily goo. It's just slightly bubbled and raised.

Same with this one it's just harder to see.

What is your agar recipe? Sometimes with soft agar I get these halos. I've done some searching on the forum and there are mixed thoughts about it.
I don't have a microscope to confirm this but I suspect it's the very thin leading edge of the myc making the agar look wet. If you look at your last two pictures you can clearly see the myc filaments.
When I do transfers it sometimes also looks there is a little pool of moisture that the transfer is sitting in about a day later. I suspect its the same thing.
Don't rely on my suspicions but I've take agar with halos to grain without an issue.

Appreciate the response! Although in some cases I would agree with you, here I used PGT's simple as 123. I used I believe 600ml of water, 12 grams potato flakes 8 grams agar, and 4 grams corn syrup.
This was awhile back and I now know that less or more. I just made some pink plates with 600ml of water, 2 grams lme, and I believe it was 12 grams agar. I boiled some water, brought it a simmer, cooked in the LME, strained out particles. Added it back to the pot, added agar, stirred it cooking at a simmer for awhile. Then I added it to a mason jar with the lid upside down and Pc'd for 30 minutes at 15psi. I noticed after PCing the water also was pink in my PC. Since then the plates hardened like normal but if I put myc to it, it begins to become watery. Any recommendations?
