kirkeng said: Well looks like I’m down to my last tub of four. Woke up today and the stalled tub had premonitions of mold as well as the mediocre tub. At least the one that filled in the best is holding out. I suspect the sparse pinning of the others was a condition of the latent infection, gives me hope this final one will make it the distance. Caps are beginning to open up and the section in the back is catching up to the maturity of the rest. For some reason I expected them to be a bit bigger, like tampanensis size, I assume they’re still a ways out from harvest so guess I’ll see.

That’s going to be stellar!

Thanks ya’ll I got my fingers crossed, the loss of the other three tubs has me a tad paranoid. I did harvest the paltry sum of immature ones in the other tubs last night, noticing they tear up the surface a bit. I’m intending to keep this tub going for a while, do y’all patch the casing with these? I never do with pans or tamps but considering it given last night. Curious as to ya’lls experience if it’s worth the time at all.

It's/was common practice to remove the whole casing while dunking and add a new one for the second flush. So... And when it comes to casings, i think that there's no need for peat or cactus soil. I've seen people getting good flushes with no casing at all and I've had great results with just a layer of verm strait from the bag and a heavy mist. Can't wait for my next grow...

Heard I’m not up to date on much, haven’t had good luck without casing for other species though I’ll give it a try on these on one of the next ones. After giving some thought I’ll probably just maintain my usual MO and get a baseline for expectation, try other shit next run to compare. Thanks for your input though.

Not as interesting as most of the pictures shared in this thread, but now that I've got pins I'm getting really excited and want to share
I took the advice you guys gave me, and I improved my surface conditions.. now I'm seeing visible growth and new pin formation every day

That will likely fill in a lot more.

This species definitely has my favorite mycelium. The surfaces always look so nice with the water beads.

Ended up with 1324.5 wet from 4 quarts spawn. I have some more bags I'm keeping around spores. Pretty solid though. Better average wet weight than my last run.
