Yeah.. I've taken tissue samples from plate pins with tweezers because the plate was sus... and I'll be doing the same with semps, but I figure it would be really easy to just cut a piece of a stipe as well, toss it on a WA plate and give it a try

Just being so small. I had 2 clean plates out of 3 and the third contamed on the side not on the flesh sample. Just a bitch and a half to handle.
OK that is what I figured. I struggled with my first few clones for the same reason. None of the fruits were "solid stipes" & my razor I use isn't as sharp as it should be. Might need to try tweezers like you mentioned to Rotn.

For sure.. I'd mostly be doing it to share the results in the WA thread. I need to finish and post some various WA projects, but I've been lagging a bit the past couple weeks.

I'm thinking once my fruits mature (so not any time in the far future) I'm going to just cut a piece of stipe (not inner tissue) and toss it on a WA plate.. might be an easy way to clone them ๐ค
Dip it in 3% H2O2 for 5/7 minutes before tossing it on the plate. That's how I used to clone pans and it always worked.

I personally have had horrible luck with cloning plate pins and stones but others swear by it so ya know.

It is, I cloned a fatty from my first run. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have cloned a fruit that was bent at a 90ยฐ angle... didn't expect bendiness/sensitivety to light source( ) to be a trait that carried over

Interesting... I just cloned a Nat fruit from a cluster that was all bent over.. wonder if I'll notice something similar

Well looks like Iโm down to my last tub of four. Woke up today and the stalled tub had premonitions of mold as well as the mediocre tub. At least the one that filled in the best is holding out. I suspect the sparse pinning of the others was a condition of the latent infection, gives me hope this final one will make it the distance. Caps are beginning to open up and the section in the back is catching up to the maturity of the rest. For some reason I expected them to be a bit bigger, like tampanensis size, I assume theyโre still a ways out from harvest so guess Iโll see.
