Does anyone know what happens if you boil your grain seeds for too short time so that the inside is not completely transpired but a little white? Will it not work then? Do the seeds have to be transparent on the inside?
In other words, can you boil the seeds too little?
I use wheat. I don't do a soak, but follow this tek:

Undercooked grains can be under hydrated and it can dry and stall the myc.
A little while inside is usually fine and gets taken care of in the PC. Lots of white inside = no good.
Edit: That's for grain in general, I do not personally use wheat

If you compare the seeds from before they were boiled, they look twice as big. But it is half white inside the seeds. Is that not enough?
And what happens if you boil the seeds for too long? Could they be too wet?

They can't be too wet as you dry them to proper moisture before loading into jars. But if they are overcooked you will get a bunch of bursted grains and your jar will be all mushy and shit

Under hydrated grains will be much harder to sterilize aswell as what was already said, over hydrated grains burst and will clump together, although annoying they can still work ok

I boiled grains. And put about 5qt in a bag. 4 bags. And PC 2 bags at a time. 90 min, 15 psi.
I let the bags cool down and dry for a day. Everything looked dry, the grains and the inside of the bags were also dry. After I had shaken them a few times.
Then I inject spores that I always from website.
I have never had any problems using their spore syringe.
Then I put the bags in a cabinet with an element that kept the heat at 28 degrees. 2 days later, the whole bag was wet, and the looked a little messy. And smelled sour, like beer or sourdough.
I thought this was because I might have made the grains too wet to begin with. But according to you it doesn't seem to matter as long as the bags were dry and the grains were dry on the outside before I PC?
What do you think was wrong? Why did my bags become so wet and begun to smell sour?

Personal opinion if you feel like your grains are a little wet after PC just let them sit for a few days. I do that with some of my bags before transfers and they tend to soak some of that moisture back up.
