Hi, I’m new to all this please could somebody let me know if this mushroom is a lib? Found whilst walking the dog, many thanks.

Sorry if I’ve not uploaded the pics correctly I’m quite stupid when it comes to stuff like this.

Few things: Poor photos, an ID needs cap, stem, gills, and habitat pics preferably. Take multiple photos for a positive ID. This is the wrong forum, this is not the identification forum, this is cultivation. Also, don't post in the official lib cap thread, as that's just for finds, not identifications. Lastly, we're a good bunch of people here, we want to help you; just try to follow site rules, learn the forums, and learn how to use the search engine. Anyway, here's some reading to help you identify libs
https://www.shroomery.org/12510/Psilocybe-semilanceata
Read this from top to bottom, bookmark it or add it to your homescreen for when you're out picking. Hope this helps.✌️&❤️

That looks damn like a lib to me, now you've fixed the pics and I can see the cap. Still read that link and still post identifications in the identification forum.

No problem, we all start somewhere. I think you've found a lib there mate. Go back to where you found that one and use that link I sent you. They all vary a bit but once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to spot them and positively ID them with no issues. Good luck, my friend.

Good work, you won't get ill handling even deadly mushrooms. Just NEVER consume something you're not 100% on. Take notes on habitat in that link, they're clearly growing in your area. Sometimes a nice sheep field, Moor, or public park can throw them out. They often do better at altitude, and shady spots early on, although I've found some recently at 30-50m above sea level in open grass around my parts. Happy hunting and get in the id forum when you find a bag full.

Sheep fields are great, they don't actually grow from the shit itself but sheep tend to trample pasture land less than cattle, leaving a better habitat for libs. Check more areas like that, sedge and gorse plants are good indicators of habitat. Try hunting 2 or 3 days after a good rain.
