That looks like compost, I doubt it's pasteurized.

It had been stored in a barn in bags. It was never pasterized.

Ok. The tubs are not modified and I am keeping the tops on them. I open a coup,e times a day and do not mist. The humidity is high without it. Anything else you can suggest. Thanks for your input!
Next time Ill do all of this the right way. Was curious to see what would come of this.

Thing is, manure and other organic materials that rot probably do partly pasteurise. Biological activity gets in the same temp zones that pasteurising creates. I've put my hand in soil that is made from garden waste and turned over, to increase biological activity, and this shit will burn your hands from the heat. I have always been one to argue that compost is almost naturally pasteurised.

So far, only one clump of mycelium has started to pin and show some growth. Hoping the rest of the bin will do the same.
