Fusarium on pins ?
    #28013609 - 10/24/22 05:36 AM (2 years, 2 months ago)

Hi all,
I'm used to grow gourmet mushrooms but I just began to grow a cube batch in bags. On 6 bags, 3 have turned pink a few days after fruiting condition but in same time those bags are pinning.
Is that fusarium on cube pins, fusarium pinning itself or not a fusarium at all?
Mycelium in jars then in bags was completetly white until fruiting condition which would be strange for a fusarium, no ?

A+ from spore syringe (very light pink):

I decided to let it grow and after 48h I got my answer. It seems that the jars I used for grain spawn contained traces of previous pink oyster mycelium even after a good clean and sterilization! That shows how strong and aggressive are oysters...
Not ideal fruiting conditions for oysters tho

No mycelium will have survived sterilization temperatures. Have you had pink oysters growing and sporulating indoors when you were doing your culture work for this grow? They produce a massive spore load that could have contaminated your culture.

I was thinking the same about the sterilization. Don't remember if I had pink oysters in fruiting condition when inoculating jars or bags of cubes... it could be a possibility indeed
