Looking ok so far. Did you test LC on agar?

Assuming your grain prep left you with properly sterilized grain I don't see any issues at a quick glance. I would just wait until 30% colonization to shake.

You are also assuming the LC you used was clean which is out of your control so at this point it is out of your hands.

Just be patient at this point. Start doing agar while you wait. That will get you closer to your end goal of fruits just as fast.

I purchased some LC from a vendor for a comparison to my MSS.

It also grows much slower than the stuff I put to agar.

Might just be the stuff that vendor is selling.

The problem with buying an LC instead of MSS is less genetic diversity.

You don't know if the LC has any desire to produce, or the age of the sample.

Also know nothing about the genetics of this LC, If from spore it would just represent one unique roll of the MS genetic dice, right? I viewed this as the same as going from spore, but skipping the spore germination phase.

I don’t know what the standard is, if there is one, but I would assume a vendor would not be working from spores if producing a lot of LC with the intention of selling clean syringes.

When going from spore what usually happens is multiple spores germinate.  It is highly improbable that you will be able to get a single spore on agar without a large amount of effort and microscopes or random bad luck.

That usually results in a mated mycelium from the beginning.  It also usually results in a mycelium with multiple sets of genetics, so you will have greater luck in the genetics pushing for fruit.

Not sure there is a "standard" for purchasing LC as there is only one vendor I have seen who sells it.  The majority of what I have seen is when you have a good fruit that you have cloned you make lc from that mycelium and can pump out large amounts of that one genetic cluster.  May or may not be isolated, but is proven to provide fruit of the desired attributes.

There is some sus looking myc in there. Because you used LC, I would expect the myc to look the same. I'm no expert tho. What are your ambient Temps?

Edit: How did you add water and what kind?

Ok cool.. Def keep that temp. If they quickly bounce back after this shake, that'll be a good sign.
