Truffles for chronic pain?
    #28000065 - 10/15/22 08:58 AM (1 year, 3 months ago)

Has anyone noticed a difference between truffles and cubes with regard to pain relief? I only used truffles once but, they seemed to act more like time release pain meds opposed to cubes which definitely
Have a distinct come up and come down.
Any thoughts from chronic pain users on what works best for them is appreciated.

Did you eat the stones? If it lasted longer than cubes, it sounds like a matter of absorption. Since the stones are harder it takes longer for your body to process the psilocybin.

You might prefer to grind up your stones and make tea for a fast comeup. Or maybe you prefer it to be 'time-release.'

I like the time release. I like everything about truffles except the after taste. Fortunately, eating chocolate helps a lot

You get pain relief from cubes? Lucky devil. I actually become more aware of how much my lower back hurts.

You might also consider making strong herbal tea with them. Some herbs that are known to help with nerves, such as chamomile, lemon balm or valerian. That can also help a small bit with pain relief, and the taste.

I simply cannot find any evidence that this should be a helping approach.
I know that some microdosers seem to achieve somehow some effects with psychedelics and try to prove that. Anyway. I would always prefer the pure and only substance for such applications-> which are note proven to work throughly on this stage.
Mushrooms simply seam to release their forces less constantly. I tried LSD a hundred times over 20 years and at least 50 times or more Magic Mushrooms. And there is not so much bad to say about Magic
Mushrooms, especially in that class of experience even preferable for beginners. Which should be irrelevant. And if there has been a body load, I would say, with LSD thats simply easier digestible - hard to describe. Rather constant, less fluctuation.
So for low dose long term use, this would be most preferably. Also the duration of efficancy of LSD seems to be simply more calculable. More exact. Pretty much 12 hours.
Thats all subjective. But adding mushroom protein - thats per definition not a neutral nor an effective factor. Its just the way it comes, holy cow.
And therefore I can not see the medical advantage of Psylocibin or Psylocin over LSD.
And especially not with truffles. Which are enjoyable- no question. But why for pain treatment.... with truffles come propably truffle proteins and their propably not researched long term consumption. So just from methodological approach and research design, the start would be the pure substance psylocin or psylocibin.
Propably I would prefer a doctor, which is proven expert in the treatment than just some seemingly random self medication. That worked for me. In a very severe case. Everybody is different though and there are also different standards in the treatment.
Are there papers you would refer to!? Propably it starts to find out how the exact relation of your truffles psylocibin can was...
Generally one can say that the problem with pain research is, thats painful...!? : )
Maybee google scholar generates some studies, its always more enjoyable to read other peoples stories and even quantitative approaches?!

I don't always get pain relief. Certain varieties make me more aware of my pain, much like THC. Other varieties make me feel lighter than air.
I'm new to mushrooms so, I have very little experience to draw upon.

@Despencer:
I'd have to expand my social circle significantly to source LSD.

Stumbling upon mushrooms was either poor judgment by a friend or an accident. Either way, It worked out OK.
I was unable to find any research on psilocybin and pain and thought I'd ask here.
