NEWBIE... Is this contamination?
    #28008284 - 10/20/22 06:38 PM (2 years, 2 months ago)

Can anyone tell me whats going on? I looked at the contamination page and didnt see this on it. It has a yellow tint to it. I wasnt sure if maybe it was coming off one of the grains?

Looks like yellow mold to me unfortunately.  May be able to top fruit?  Not sure.  Wait for more replies...

Typically you don't want to fill your jars that full or it's hard to shake and get the spawn out of the jar.

Personally I would toss it

Lessons learned. Experience acquired.

The only mistake would be to give up.

Check this thread Clean spawn checklist for the new grower to learn about recognizing contaminants.
